I feel like your girl truly understands Uhtred... Obviously we sorta want a character with a specific allegiance. But Uhtred has shown that he's a Warrior thats focused on his path and destiny. "Destiny is all" is truly the message of the story. Its not that he is loyal to one side or the other. Its that he's trying to achieve his destiny, regain his birthright and become lord of Bebbenburg. I love the bond between Uhtred and Ragnar. True brothers 💜 Lastly, yes, Alfred truly is one of the best characters in the series. A powerful and wise king, no wonder he's called Alfred The Great 🙏

Alfred is the only British monarch to be given the name Great as in Alfred the Great.

The Mushroom (hallucigenic) Ale is what killed Brida & Uhtred's baby, but Brida is so much like a Dane from living with them for so long & learning their ways thinks that the miscarriage is from the curse that Storri put on her. King Alfred had a disease that caused his stomach to act up & I believe that is why he couldn't eat meat, researcher's say that the disease was most likely Chron's Disease. He was a strong king despite his ailments.
