Honorable mentions: Although the royal family has attended Hillerska for generations, his parents let him attend a regular high school. He was always more “normal” than they are In his speech, Wilhelm says that the added pressure of more official duties as prince resulted in him acting irresponsibly. If this is actually true, there is no shot he would’ve made a good king anyways Lisa confirmed that when Wilhelm breaks the 4th wall for the first time, it’s to symbolize how alone he is. So it only makes sense that the show would end with him finally not being alone Erik laughs at August joke to “lay the foundation before they’re still too insecure to object,” pointing towards the fact that he was never the perfect guy everyone says he is When Wilhelm & Simon talk for the first time, August interrupts them. August representing the monarchy / tradition When Felice is vomiting during the party, her friends (Madison, Stella, Fredrika) aren’t there for her but Sara comes to her aid
Also the first few minutes of S01E01 basically summarise season 1; Wilhelm ignoring both girls and boys until one catches his attention and he immediately dives in head first, while being filmed and the material going viral online. He doesn't want to give a speech about it but is made to by the queen
Probably one of the most interesting YR videos I have seen. Some things go straight over my head, so I am glad there are videos like this for me to go " ... Aah!". 💡
this video is the literal interpretation from the first time I rewatched the first episode. I finished it and immediately restarted the first episode because I was taken aback by the narrative depth and wanted to compare the ending with the beginning. There's just so much narrative depth and complexity in the writing to catch. I'll be rewatching this at least once per year for the foreseeable future I swear.
Me watching everyday because nothing else holds my interest. I’m on my second round of actively watching with sound muted. OMG. There is just so much there. A masterpiece! I don’t know why it isn’t recognized for this. Awards Awards They should be Netflix Hall of Fame.
Lisa is too fucking good at her job. Someone give this woman an Emmy rn. Fuck give her all of the awards, she deserves them 💜💜 Lisa really did the world a solid with this show. The breaking of the 4th wall is done so well in this show. So much respect for every single one of them
3:26 I feel like the glow sticks represent a crown for Simon and a royal sash for Simon. The one on on Simon looks like the gay pride flag and wille has the unlabeled flag around his chest......so maybe it symbolises that wille felt trapped and had to stay secretive about his sexuality ❤😮
You are not overanalyzing. Everything is set up in episode 1. Then there's one more where Wille changes places with the principal, he's going to be the reason she's fired in S3.
