And I also really love the whole story line with the father. Its another grey shade, another character that's neither good nor bad, but as we all, a human with his flaws.
Yeah nice to have developed him. I wasn't sure. But yeah as you say, pretty nuanced character, and interesting interaction with Sara. A completely different dynamic that with Linda.
He was not all bad before. There were really great August moments. I never really hated him. And if he had been a bit more stable, he could have been a good replacement brother for Wille. Even when he destroyed everything, he gave him good advice..
In the whole hallway scene, my reaction was: ok gurl.... But then I was completely shocked (in the good way) for the kind of realistic and intimate scene that the director did!!! Such a incredible job since the realistic, vulnerabilty, chemistry between Edvin and Omar and THE SOUNDTRACK where the lyrics are ABSOLUTELY AMAZING and generated almost a angelic atmosphere, to the kind of Wille and Simon went straight to heaven with their loveeee❤ and the "I love you" was the epitome of going to heaven ❤
Btw I ALWAYS loves your reactions in all series and I finished Young Royals and I was waiting for your reaction😂 and for them hallway scene, I WAS HOPING THAT THE FANS APPEARS AHAJAHAHA ❤❤❤❤ lots of love for you two❤
Idk if you already answered this question but after finishing episode 6 will you maybe consider reacting to the documentary “Young Royals Forever” ? I think a lot of people would love this reaction! ☺️💜
4:31 this line really got me worried. For me it was giving self destructive vibes. And later this episode hes telling how hes losing interest in the things he loves. As someone whos been feeling like that in similar way in the past, it really hit home
I've seen a lot of bls from all around the world but ive never seen such good chemistry between 2 main leads it just doesn't seem fake they're not even trying its already there the small details between simon and wille is ridiculous atp i can feel every emotion they portray they feel embarrassed i feel embarrassed too they feel sad i feel it too, they feel love i feel it to in my bones even tho im single sf
Me as a Swede I can admit that it is a big difference look upon the 30th of april (celebrating Valborg) and the 1 rst of may (celebrating Labour day). This divides the society. The academic society have focus of Valborg in the student life, and the non academic groups focus on the labour day. The part of academic people sees 1rst of may as a rest day after a night of partying. And the people focus om labour day the 1 rst of may have not been partying at all on Valborg the 30th of april, preparing for the activities on Labour day.
Well, just a personal anecdote, I started learning Swedish because of it and traveled to Stockholm for the first time last week to watch the finale, so, yeah, this it's had a small influence on my life. 🐸🇸🇪
I think the royal family advisors should have helped Simon deal with this and not relied completely on Wille, who is in an awkward position to handle it all. That said, there is a reminder that the whole story takes place in one school year, whereas for us viewers it was 3 seasons in three/four years.
What is actually really sad, I think what Simon says about everyone discussing details about their relationship, is exactly what Omar experienced himself with his ex. And Wilhelms answer would be Omars: it’s always been and will always be like this for me.
i dont think the writers exactly wrote august to be forgiven. its more so a kind of like showing the reasons why he does what he does kind of thing, but definitely not a "you need to forgive him by the end of the season" sort of thing. even after finishing the show i still think hes an asshole idc how "sweet" he is to sara lmfao great reaction as always!
@@GirlLovesFairytale yeah exactly! i do feel like he is remorseful and wishes he hadnt done what he did, but the thing is he cant take it back and he needs to accept the consequences. i loved the way the ending kinda left him w the realization that ascending the throne is not as glamorous as he had thought it would be and that would kind of be his worst punishment
Told you guys in the comments for ep2... get that 🪭 ready for ep3 😂. This was just a phenomenal season. And I can't wait for you to react to the documentary and hope you also do a reaction video for their live event they had for the finale on TikTok... the video is now on RU-vid. 💜💜💜
Did you notice that the little boy who wanted a picture with Simon had a rainbow pin on his jacket? I really love the little details in this show. I discovered a lot of them by rewatching, because I was so focused on the story the first time.
This may already be posted, but the show writer said the negative online posts were taken from real comments directed at the YR cast, especially Omar and Edvin.
With you saying about how you don’t want Young Royals to be over, what I really _really _*_really_* wish we could have is a Simon-centric spinoff. It’d be nice to explore more of his side of the story post-s3.
love love your reaction. idk if you missed it, but at valborg event (one with bonfire) Simon said that recently singing is no longer really enjoyable for him, and it really sad in my opinion, he's like gradually losing himself to keep their relationship together. but wille's reaction was like, okay let's have sex, everyone is outside 😭he's kinda bit disregard simon's feeling, but well yeah, ofc they're just teenagers with that amount of pressure 😭😭
Ben from Heartstopper IMO is worse than August in terms of character. Ben assaulted Charlie in S1 and stalked him in S2 (Charlie communicated in S1 that he didn’t want to have anything to do with Ben anymore and Ben won’t leave him alone). August is no gem, but he is slightly less sociopathic. He really does feel genuine remorse about what he has done. Ben, even when he is apologizing to Charlie in S2, seems to think if he “had more time”, he could have made it work with Charlie. That is pretty narcissistic. August is awful, don’t get me wrong, but Ben is wrong on a whole other level. August is motivated by jealousy and Ben gets his kicks off controlling Charlie and putting him down.
Absolutely love watching this along side with you! Pretty late to the Young Royals-party so I am binging the series and your reactions at the moment. Thanks for making them ❤
August is incredibly insecure, lost and lonely. He probably has experienced imposter syndrome. He is desperately trying to control his life and surroundings by squashing someone who has more power and prestige. I think this is why he is so infatuated/in love with Sara- she is not threatening and he can be more genuine because he has nothing to lose with her. Notice he never tells his friends how he feels about her. I think he is experiencing genuine feelings with her.
So unrealistic to expect a teen with no media training to know how to behave on social media and in the public. Too much pressure...both internal and external...and not enough positive support from adults who should know better!
Same. I still don't really like him though. He actively choose to become an asshole to cover up his insecurities. That was a conscious choice and that's why I refuse to like him. But I don't hate him anymore and that's something.
Ngl I've been rewatching The Crown recently, and when Kristina broke down under all the pressure, I was quite underwhelmed lmao. Like, "Oh that's it? That's all it takes to break you down? Oh alright." Like Elizabeth's character versus hers is just... whew. Lmao ik I shouldn't be comparing the two but I just think it's interesting.
