They mentioned Penny because she's the actress, not Leonard. If she wanted to be an engineer, or astronaut he would mention only one person specifically. Not Bernadette.
Supposing that Leonard is dead seems farfetched to me, being based primarily on their son not having a nickname. Not everyone likes nicknames. It would not be unusual at all to use the full name Leonard for both their friend and their son.

1. Sheldon and Amy calling their male child “Leonard” could just be them inferring which one is it due to the context clue of his hockey game. If one states that Sheldon isn’t good with context clues, he’s the one who says Leonard and context clues were used in my english lessons for the duration of my childhood, I would be astonished if Sheldon hasn’t attained that knowledge. 2. Penny specifically was named due to her former aspirations of taking a career in the arts of perfomance, specifically; being an actress. They could also not name Leonard to save time because it would be obvious that if Leonard is home during the time Penny was babysitting it would be obvious he would’ve tried to help, therefore, Leonard Hofstadter is likely to still reside in the figurative “realm of the living”.

The older Sheldon narration in Young Sheldon season 2, says they named their son after Leonard Nimoy (Spock) and perhaps also after Sheldon's friend. There is no reason to believe Leonard has died. Just speculation at best. If it cannot be proven, then it may not be true.

Not exactly correct. Raj's name is actually his nickname - it's short for Rajesh. And Howard sometimes goes by Howie (only his mother - and occasionally Bernadette - called him that). Bernadette has a nickname that only Howard uses - Bernie. Sheldon and Amy are the ones who disliked nicknames (but both accepted that Raj preferred to be called Raj, although Amy had on more than one occasion called him Rajesh. So theoretically Amy is the one who has a real problem using nicknames), so they won't use shortened names. As for the rest of the TBBT gang, I wouldn't be surprised if they used nicknames with their kids. And Penny's name? Penny is often short for Penelope (an ancient Greek name for girls).

If everyone remembers the last episode of big bang theory penny just announced she was pregnant, so the the baby due to a long with Leonard? Or did Penny and Leonard brake up and Leonard has custody of their baby, or did the baby die? Still lots of unanswered questions here!!! My theory is Penny stayed at home cause Leonard and their child at this point went some place for a lecture cause their child is smart Penny decided to hang back stay home and work, while Leonard and their child flew to a lecture for a father/son weekend or a father/daughter weekend!! I don't understand why everyone just jumps to the conclusion that Leonard is Dead just cause they didn't mention him at the end of the last episode of the series!!!! This seems like a stretch, my BIL and Nephew both have the same name and as a kid we used a nickname for the kid but now as a teenager we call them both by the same name.
I think you're reaching a lot. I tend to think that by the days in the 'present', Sheldon would have been more inclined to name his son after his friend (who is is very close to despite his antics). It's not a problem to have two people with the same name, happens more often than the people who made this video think. And I think Sheldon is only mildly griping about Penny putting what he sees as weird ideas in his kid's head. I think Leonard is alive and well, and still good friends with Sheldon at this point.
I'm not buying this crap. There's so much other explanations. Penny might have babysat Amy and Sheldon's daughter because Leonard might have been out of town, it might also be practical that Penny babysat as a play date between her child and Amy's Daughter, etc. because nothing has been specifically mentioned that Leonard is dead then he is likely still alive and still with Penny.

Despite his deep friendship with Leonard he always was more attached to Penny as she worked at some sort of mothet/sister/angry aunt, of course he will depend on her for babysitting once in a while. Maybe they had it scripted of Leonard moving away. Remember that one episode of TBBT where Penny imagined that time where Leonard was doing all this romantic stuff for her? When he was just sitting on the couch playing video games in his pants? It could just be possibly that maybe when Penny and Leonard announced that a Penny was pregnant on the finale of TBBT, apparently that had to leave to a spin off. So maybe, Leonard thought that he wanted children, but then he became like a useless father to them (Kinda like how Howard was really unresponsible in TBBT with his PS4) maybe that happened or he happened to be addicted to something so not long after a year of their parent hood, Leonard and Penny probably got a divorce. Seems like a possibility but I could be wrong.

if you watched it they have 2 kids a boy who plays hockey and a daughter so if the boy plays hockey he must be around 10 or 12 years old and a daughter who can clearly express her thoughts so she may be 8 or 9
