@pepega clapper I just graduated High school last June and I agree. I HATED school but I lost a year and half due to covid and I WISH I could go back and re do it
@pepega clapper Yeah you do sound like a boomer because you clearly have no idea what stress kids these days are under. The amount of useless (and yes i mean useless) they have to do is insane. They spent hours and hours learning useless shit that they never ever use again. Even worse they are learning things that aren't even true, because our country is too racist to acknowledge it's own history with slavery. Yes a HS diploma is important, but pretending like high school is better than work is complete bullshit.
Because Mary raised him to be like that. If she should've thaught him How to get along with others, Then he should've been like that. Look at Paige she's super smart but she doesn't think and act like that.
I love Zoe Perry! She has the same facial expressions and voice tones as her mom! It really made her the perfect choice to play Mary Cooper in Young Sheldon!!
Am I the only one who thinks young Sheldon was more matured than adult Sheldon also young Sheldon kept his father's secret for all the years whilst adult Sheldon couldn't even hold secrets for minutes.
@MmmmMonke adult Sheldon did hurt his friends in his tantrums tho ... remember when he was sick in season 8? And how selfishly he reacted to Stuart when the comic book store was torched. And as a child with Missy he did a lot of things he never liked like going to the old hut in the forest with dirt and spider webs, riding the car Georgie drove in season 1. The reason he was mean to Paige as a child was because he couldn't accept the fact she is as smart as him if not more, and he wasn't any better about this when he grew up either, remember the time there was a team quiz and just bcz he didn't know the answer he didn't let the Russian scientist of his team answer despite he knew the correct answer and they lost because for him being smartest in the room meant everything to him ,more than other's feelings. (before amy changed him)
I think he was somewhat matured and understanding when he was having some connection with the family. Also Mary and to some extent others took extra care of him and made sure his obnoxious personality was in check. But I think once Mary and George divorce and he dies later on. Plus he distancing himself from family and emotions for his master's degree, makes him more obnoxious since there isn't any family to keep him in check. That's why in TBBT his roommates and friends especially the girls have great effect on him not in a romantic way , but to understand basic emotions. Since he is an adult now it was hard but as TBBT progressed his adopted family kept him under check and he (hopefully) somewhat changed for good by the end of the show.
I’ve thought of dropping out many times due to school being very stressful. But I look how far I’ve gotten all the hard work I’ve put in the hours of studying would go to waste. That and my dad pays for my school.
@@brendanm4379 well Currently I’m taking an astronomy course and I like what I’m learning. I’m also studying to be a teacher ( ironic I know ) and I love the classes that are for my specific major.
@@nerdgeekcosplay909 That sounds fantastic. When I was in undergrad, I conducted Astrophysics research for two years. I don't know if your school offers it, but I would recommend becoming a teaching assistant; that way, you can see whether you like teaching. I'm not sure in which state you live (if you even live in the US), but some states will cover all of your tuition if you intend on becoming a teacher - Mississippi does, for example.
@@brendanm4379 I do have some teaching experience from high school ( I worked in the special education department) and I enjoyed it. I knew that career was built for me
I regret not dropping out of school because of the severe bullying I was receiving. The school refused to help me even though I was having literal garbage thrown at me for no reason at all on a daily basis and they chose to blame me. Now I have all sort of anxiety and issues because I never dropped out and honestly it’s not like graduating high school made my life any better either.
Hey all those old people there actually know each other because Dr. Sturgis (Wallace Shawn) already met Dale (Craig T. Nelson) in The Incredibles and Meemaw (Annie Potts) in Toy Story
No not really, theres literally always a choice if someone wants to focus on studies, it's really not just for missy, shes more on eq, the school system is flawed, so she's better off
@@secretfolders6069 missy didn't have to be a gifted genius like Sheldon to make good use of education.....even with some good guidance self effort and encouragement ,very average people at least become accountants or lawyers
The problem is that Sheldon's arc is already determined, young Sheldon is supposed to progress to old Sheldon, but they don't really know how to do that and still give him character growth, so In current seasons young Sheldon has actually out matured old Sheldon
I always thought school was pointless since I learned little about helpful things (how to pay taxes, how to get a job, etc.) but soon I realized it was useful for one thing: connections. Most of the time, people get jobs thanks to who they know and/or you can contact those people you know if you need help on a project that they would be helpful with
I was so glad to get out of school, they even made me stand in the corner wearing a dunces hat, problem was they did not test for dyslexia in those days. I never made any connections at school either. Became a self taught electronics design engineer and computer programmer.
@@marcushoward6560 The paper shows something. You were able to complete a large multi-year project with tight deadlines, while dealing with a large impersonal bureaucracy, balancing different class priorities, various personal crisis, illness, and learned lots of material multiple times on short notice. If the company is going to assign you a project with a million dollar budget, they feel more comfortable that you won't flake off or fail to complete it. You don't need the paper to be able to do that- but the paper is evidence you did do it at least once. but ... secondarily to that... the process does have an effect on many* people's brains allowing them to think more logically and rationally, to prioritize better, and how to learn to learn. *not all!
@@bjorn1900 I am assuming your a kid, since Missy in real life if you had her as a sister or a child, would be the worst person to have, she is very prone to peer pressure, manipulates her family and sheldon to get what she wants and acts high and mighty when she is called out for doing something bad and over reacts to normal things, like when she stole her dads truck because she saw Mary consoling Sheldon, when really Mary needed the hug more than him as her marrage was falling apart but Missy just couldnt see past the end of her nose which when she was younger she was smart to peoples feelings than as a 12 to 13 year old, she is as dumb as georgie and kids just cant seem to see the bad she really is
I think Sheldon mentioned in TBBT that Missy took 6 years to graduate high-school. It could mean she either dropped out or had some issues (e.g. pregnancy...)
@@Denise-oi4ws Good theory. There's lots of reasons why it could have took her that long such as your reason or something else like serious health issues, having to transfer schools that didn't accept all her course credits etc.
@@isabelgee5062 uh yah. So then it wouldn’t have taken her 6 years to graduate due to pregnancy because she had her first kid during an episode of the TBBT waaaay past high age. And the second kid during Sheldon’s wedding. Again, past high school age.
Is it just me, or does it seem like George started treating Georgie less like a kid and more like an adult after this episode? Especially after Mandy got pregnant.
@@tokachan6345 Sheldon a literal genius with autism, Georgie the sweetest person ever but not super smart but made something out of himself, Missy is pretty wild and fun but mellowed out later on
Meemaw has the couch that matches rosanne casts couch pillow they all lay all over. I only remember the pattern bc my sister also has the couch pillows. Lol
for sheldon he rather do taxes than dishes but the key for kids chores if they enjoy something more, let them do that but Missy is just lazy as she got older so doesnt work for her
They should be glad they still have fun at school because you can play with friends and have vacation. Once you become adult and have job, you will never have that time for that.
@@maryblushes7189 no of course not arrest, they would treat is as a welfare check or think it’s a silver alert. The elderly community my Gma was apart of had a lot of elderly people wonder away and get lost then be picked up in public spaces and parks at night. They were always checked on and returned to the community by police escorts.
I did not know Mary is Laurie Metcalfe daughter . Laurie was Sheldon's mom in Big Bang Theory.. I just thought they picked an actress that looked just like her.
I'd be hard oressed to find any parents of multiple children who don't speak & treat their children differently. It's both natural & necessary; siblings aren't cardboard cutouts.
@@youmustcreateachanne thank you, most parents know every child is different, they cant treat Missy the same as Sheldon or Georgie the same as Missy, which kids just think is favourtism but as they get into parents they learn it isn't, its a part of life and parenting. Sheldon is sensitive, so he needs a more calm approch (as kids with Anxiety or even autistim) Missy is more angry, hardcore which she needs a more firm approch or she walks over her parents and Georgie needs a firm but also forgiving as he is lazy but also hardworking, so his would differ
