liliana figueroa this line means to mention that we all live with a certain amount of disconnect from what is required for our survival i.e. 'paradise'. this disconnections causes us to make 'paradigms' or sets of behavior that we all follow (like people being quiet on an elevator, or accepting income inequality). its the 'years' of living in this way that paralyze us from accomplishing our needs or helping others.

A friend introduced me to this band. I figured these guys benefited from recording in a studio and they couldn't replicate this sound live. Well I just saw them in Nashville and they are just as good if not better live.

I had a hard time trying to find this song because I misheard the lyrics and kept trying to search for _It's a bad time_ instead of _it's about time_. Young the Giant: what can i say about this group...? theyre just such an awesome group my number one! the lead singer..what a mesmerizing voice! i bet he sound as equally amazing live as he does in the tracks. and their music is overall is amazing! there is variety in their music and almost all their songs give me those "this song is so good" chills lol i hope they continue making music as good as they are now.

PSSSHH. This is progressive indie rock goodness. When Justin Bieber and One Direction start singing about something other than how pretty girls are THAT'S mainstream progression. YTG is very happily under the radar of a large amount of the mainstream audience, and I like it that way.

Matthew Westmoreland no this rock is much more radio-ready. Progressive indie rock? Nahh, I'd say closer to alternative rock, or just a more aggressive indie rock sound. This is definitely towards mainstream radio though, but it's a good change nonetheless (not implying that they were bad before, they were just as good)

Ty Palmer You seem like a humorless person, so I'll explain it to you. That comment got so many likes because it's difficult to understand what the singer is saying during that passage. The comment puts forth a silly mishearing that makes the song more amusing to listen to if you imagine those words are being spoken instead. Maybe you could have worked that out for yourself if you weren't an elitist prick.

Once in a while I listen to one of the songs on their first album and it brings back so many memories. When any band releases a new album all I see in the comments is "OMG this is awful they've changed their sound I want more like (insert first album here). I miss their old sound!" So you expect the band to keep the same style every album and not even change a thing? Well that's boring. When a band release the same style of songs over and over again it gets tiresome. A good band experiments with their sound and makes it different. I don't see what's so awful with this song. It still sounds like a Young the Giant song to me. It actually sort of reminds me of My Body a bit which is the song that brought them success in the first place. I'm willing to hear what they have in store for the next album and maybe people should give this song a chance.

This song was alright when first aired on the local radio stations in my area. Since then 'It's about time' has been so overdone with a play average of 7-14 x a day. If Its' about time' were a steak it would now be charcoal.

It used to be 'how to name your alternative bands': The (fill in blank). The Strokes, the Hives, the Vines, the White Stripes, the Black Keys, the Verve, the Cure, etc.... Then it became: Word and number. Eve 6, Maroon 5, Blink 182, Sum 41, Seven Mary Three, 3 Doors Down, Matchbox 20, Finger 11, etc....

This is ONE song. How can you not see the amazing structure and uniqueness of this song? I'm sure they won't change there sound to much.

1. They kinda remind me of A Perfect Circle with this song. And 2. When I was trying to find this song, because the people on the radio don't tell you the artist, when he said, "tight rope" I thought he said "gyro" and apparently I wasn't the only one who thought he said gyro because I found the song in a flash. Lol

Didn't like it at first, but every time I listen to it now the more I like it. Definitely a big change. Instrumentation is fantastic. And it rocks. I like the roots of the song and they're trying different stuff. Don't judge before we hear the full album.

Song's pretty cool, defintely catchy, well-written parts. Like the part with the lone guitar then the percussion enters...chills. But, I can't help but think "so THAT'S what The Mars Volta would've sounded like if they tried harder to get on the radio."
