Injury-free, Young You (유영) of the Republic of Korea is eager for a fresh comeback for the 2024-25 figure skating season. The 2020 Four Continents silver medalist capped off her season this year at the World Championships with a 12th place finish. However, the skater faced formidable challenges over the past two seasons, grappling with injuries and enduring a mentally demanding period following the Olympic season.
While grappling with injuries, she secured an 11th and eighth place finish at her two Grand Prix events-Skate America and Grand Prix Espoo. As a result, she faced a significant challenge in qualifying for the World Championships. This accomplishment was particularly noteworthy given the formidable competition within Korea, where the domestic skating scene boasts considerable strength.
