For anyone not aware of this, Younger Brother, Shpongle, and Hallucinogen all have one person in common - Simon Posford. If you don't know the other two acts, PLEASE check them out!! CHECK HIM OUT! And he's got more music than the 3 I mentioned above. He's a genius. And his music and collabs, in all their forms, are lifting and mind expanding!

Man... found this band around 19 years old. I'm 30 now with 2 sweet little boys and I still love this album. Gives me feelings of nostalgia. Where did the time loop to? Makes me want to run off to the COSM and WILE OUT! I get waves of euphoria and waves of slight sadness. Feels like a time long lost. *Sigh*
OMG! I totally feel the same! Funny how what we are now experiencing, hearing, feeling will some day seem somehow nostalgic. This album definitely does that.
It was the crazy heatwave summer here near Oslo listening to this on the train and it was just a wonderful time to feel that my mind expanded past old and stale ideas, the world felt big again and filled with positive possibility.
Time is abstract because its passage is directly related to the state of perception. I've had moments that lasted days and days that lasted for moment. “Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour. Sit with a pretty girl for an hour, and it seems like a minute. That's relativity.” - Einstein.
the last song is just amazing. Triggers a really strong emotion which not exactly sad or melancholic but not happy either. It is somewhere in between nostalgia and i don't know.
actually it is very melancholoc , pure minor scale . but you do have a point there regarding nostalgic and the other thing we both dont know . in the end its just a wery well composed yet simple guitar riff made by proffesional musicians
I don't know if he is actually selfish. I mean I would feel sad if those isntahoes would use this music to hoe or to promote stupidity. Yeah I think I am really selfish too.
Saw you open Samothraki Dance Festival 2002 your first set ever I believe, You don't imagine how you change my life with all your amazing projects, love you both, you are magicians this is one of the biggest masterpiece in history for me, Thanks you for ever Simon and Benji MushLOve
The opening track has been stuck in my head for days on end, and i couldn't for the life of me remember who produced it. Thank God my brain came through this afternoon, i was going crazy. Such a relief to hear this!
I've only just heard it for the first time, and although your statement is perhaps a little hyperbolic, I think I already get where you're coming from after just one listen. I'm definitely buying this one :)
Definitely on a lot of top 10 lists for me. So strange... I've listened enough times that the music is very familiar but I find something I've never heard each and every time.
Just found this today, through the track Psychic Gibbon, and immediately recognized Posford's sound, he's just so distinct; was about to comment that it sounded like indie Shpongle or laid back Hallucinogen, till looking up the members of Younger Brother.
Thursday night I went fishing with friends on a completely deserted beach, with the moonlight shining like never before until at one point we saw lights in the sky, they were definitely UFOs because they were moving like nothing I've ever seen before. Since then and without knowing why "Happy pills" is playing in my head non-stop. I hadn't listened to this album in years and this experience brought me back. I think that in some way it is the ideal song to make contact. THANKS!
The first two tracks are my medicine. I turn my mind off and I let the sounds do the talking. It is how bliss sounds. Then Elephant Machine barges in and I am back on earth again, because we have to live this thing out before we merge with the eternal music.
It may be album artwork that commensurates Floyd but the sound is Younger Brother exclusive. I just cannot get enough! For years I have popped the disc in my car and have been lost in reverie for weeks at a time.
Completely agree. There is almost nothing "floyd-esque" about this band, yet the comparisons abound, almost as if people just had to find a label to try to cram this music under. I enjoy Pink Floyd, but these guys are effing brilliant. I can listen to their cd's on repeat for days.
wow, this is my lucky day. I came here on the wind and thought I'd give it a try, I was unable to stop listening until the end, 30 secs ago. this music speaks curling volumes to my soul. thanks
I stumbled on the track Psychic Gibbon way back in middle school (around 2014-ish) right around the time I was looking for psychedelic/experimental/IDM/trance stuff. It still sounds excellent today!
Again and again and again...every evening when I come back from work, I have a session of Younger Brother. It's pure and you have no other option than board on this amazing digital starship. "Beam me up!"
Younger Brother is so good. Glad to see it spread to good quality music network. Now even more people gonna discover it. For similar feel listen to Shpongle, Sephira, Tycho, Com Truise.
Especially as I'm sure any clued-up psychedelic voyager worth their salt would agree. Time is simply our way of recording planetary/star rotation in order to suit our needs here on planet earth. Nothing wrong with being angry mind
