Agreed. Especially with the part about the total trophies and how newer players can achieve high ranks easily. IMO if you are looking at skill you should also look at the number of wins someone has as well as their rank in ranked (even if its not really that skill based anymore) as well as a the number of challenge wins a person has. But the most reliable way to check for skill is to really just do a 1v1 like people used to back then. 🗿

ngl pretty accurate, one of the best ways to test how good someone is tho is by playing whatever gamemode they got their high ranked brawler in and just see if they do well or just spectate them playing a game on that brawler

But I wholeheartedly agree there's been the matchmaking glitch recently and now mutations coming into the game 💀Honestly I don't know what supercell is doing with this game. I pushed a r30 stu about a year ago and now the mutation is coming, god knows its soooo broken and after this update people will think I just abused the mutation😩Supercell needs to change their game and fix the trophy system

I can confirm the total trophies thing, when i push with my 50k friend its almost impossible to get a win streak above 3 for brawlers above rank 27(could be a skill issue on my part) for me. But just yesterday i helped a friend at 23k push bibi to r29 and we easily went on a 9 win streak and those games felt closer to the rank 25 games i play with my 50k friend.

another reason: they have teams when i try high trophies in 3v3s my randoms never do anything and i need to carry almost everytime when they play with a team, they lnow what they are doing and have no bad randoms

they should make ranks temporary and make a “highest rank” indicator.

This makes me not feel so bad bc i got like 20 brawlers to rank 25 and that feels so hard to do while ppl casually have 70 rank 35 brawlers playing less than me

imo if you push a brawler to r30+ while on ~45k trophs or higher, its a pretty skilled push. Especially if its not an SD brawler (fang, cord, shelly etc.) - so something like an R30 gene or Mr. P would be much more imporessive than an R30 edgar or L&L

Tbh it also really depends where you push, for example, if you push in bb you will most likely have more skill then sm who pushed in ko Also ping Certainly your skill by 80%

I've been a long-term player and many like me know how euphoric it felt when you unlocked new brawlers in the past.. man OMG. I'm a player with 7000 trophies who's trying to get enough level 9 brawlers to be able to play beyond diamond. When I hit r30 with Edgar, I constantly got matched with people +30000 total trophies. If total trophies matter so much, do others with 20000 or something get matched with +80000 or whatever most people are at?

I feel like if i want to get a rank 30 brawler then i have to have more max trophies but playing any low rank brawlers to have more skilled players on my team yet i cant rank up on lower trophy brawlers because i always get matched against people with brawlers 9-3 powers above and i cant rank up, i have a 43 trophy Angelo and cant rank up cuz im facing power 11 brawlers with 0 trophies.

The low trophy thingy was added in angelo update. i had a decent amount of r30s for a 20k and after the angelo update dropped it just felt...easier and I have 16 r30s and pushing to escape this low trophy privilege thingy I hate this and want to face actual players:/

r33+ does have a big impact since it’s practically void of many things other than wintrading. New player matchmaking occurs under 35k total trophies and 1100 on a brawler, over that you actually face good players.

It depends the matchmaking works on total trophies if u have like 10k trophies and it stops being like that when u get 1100 after 1100 it counts the trophies on the brawler and not the total trophies on acc

Ranks still arent useless tho. If you aren't a wintrader, wasn't carried, didn't abuse a glitch and have a decent amount of trophies, i still think ranks are the best way to see someone's skill other than looking at their gameplay. There are so many people with tons if total trophies but are bad at the game because their highest brawler is rank 25

My friends highest rank is 28 while mine is 32 and he still won against me in 1vs1💀

me personally got such a low amount of r30's but all of them i played honestly in 5v5 and today rosa is one of my r30's and i feel like if i told this to people they would think its a big lie since wintraders exists and these guys are straight up the reason of why i don't play showdown anymore

i stopped caring about trophies when i hit 50K now trophies are the thing i get because i win and now with winstreaks and Mutations trophies are meaningless they can't even help with matchmaking i think they're doing this because they want to rework the trophies system or add a more accurate way to show a players skill all i care about is that i stop seeing the brain rot i see at 750 matchmaking i swear 750 is the new 500 and adding more Tiers won't help because i'm not gonna push a brawler for 5 hours just to play against people my level if the randoms are bad i drop the brawler

Tbh yeah, kinda, i mean getting r30 with my 61k playing match above 900 is total hell, i pushed my first, yet only rank 30 while being more than 50k+ and it was Melodie just because how broken she was. And also when i playing(my fav brawler) Colette on 900 on main account, every game is sweaty af. While on my second account with 28k in total playing on literally same trophies its just actually me having fun, not hard at all. But literally only difference is total trophies, same brawler, same trophies on brawler, same maps and Build. But difference in how hard games are, is very big

Just to confirm what he was saying if you're still doubting, rank 30 on a mini feels like rank 26 on a main. After I got my first rank 30 on my main, rank 30s on my mini just didn't have any value.

I actually abused the duels glitch 2 years ago. And yes it was very op and very simple to do you just need to lose 1-3 times then you're gonna get matched with a bot then if you press play again you could match with bot again 100% at a time and keep doing it till you reach 500 trophy on a brawler then you'll stop matching against bots that's why i don't have a rank 35 yet. But i never pushed a brawler to 500+ with the duels glitch because i don't know how to do it so i just ended up pushing the brawlers with low power lvl or the brawlers that am bad at like stu and i got stu to 500 and stopped using him completely. I pushed like 20+ brawlers to rank 20 with this glitch i wasn't banned or anything. But it's still too easy to push to rank 20 anyway and sometimes while doing the glitch you'll forget to press play again and have to fight real players with terrible brawlers or power lvl 1 and it takes too long to push to 500 trophy even with this glitch as their is no winstreak at that time and you gain 2-3 trophy for a single brawler and sometimes you even lose to bots who can burst your brawlers like franky

Matchmaking doesn’t really work like that, I have 48k and match against zoulan and actual pros with 90k+ when I’m just pushing a rank 32, not to mention that I’m pushing with my 2 friends with just 9k and 20k. it’s not dependent on your total trophies but your actual brawler.

i got to rank 30 on carl i still remeber it was like a small platform with water around and everyone spawns in there and i would just gadget and either get no 1 or no 2 just because i abused the op map doesnt mean that im a good carl player but ye that was a long time ago

thats actually not true, matchmaking is based off of an individual brawlers trophies, not total.

And also mutations, an extremely skill-less feature that is mostly a free rank 30+. You wont really be able to tell if someone abused mutations or if they actually earned their rank
