I have the same trailer, and would not recommend using only the trailer curb weights listed on the BT website. Those don't include the mega ramp option. When I weighed my 22GN, it was 700lbs more than the website. The ramps are an option, and options aren't included in the published weights. So, I highly recommend weighing everything yourself.

Pennsylvania was putting hotshots OOS for being over weight on trailer tires. And there are two weight ratings on the tires, based on if they are singles or duals.

Ram 3500 14000 pounds Top hat 25900 lbs Trailer Truck and trailer with all necessities and fuel 20330 lbs 14000 + 25900 = 39900 39900 - 20330 = 19570 lbs maximum load carrying. No that’s Mississippi math for you!

Excellent info. Know your weight limits. When you are remotely close to your weight limit after loaded hit the nearest CAT scale, if the shipper does not have a scale on site, and make sure none of the axles are over weight.

Also CAT scale is certified and they will stand behind you in court. The shipper scale, although useful, may not be accurate and they won't stand behind you in court.

At the end if you get in a bad accident if you are towing beyond manufactures capacity when attorneys get involved it will get ugly. Same thing goes for tires if the manufacturer says to use 275/17/75 and you want bigger tires all this stuff comes into play in a lawsuit. Had a good friend that went through it just how it goes. Just my opinion and what I have seen and been through over the years

Just to help clarify, I only hold a chauffeurs license, & will never try getting a CDL-A. So i know my limits. Firstly, DOT doesn't add the GVWR of a trailer to the GVWR of the truck until the trlrs GVWR is over 10,000 GVWR. So, any truck i drive that has a GVWR between 16,000- 26,000 can pull a trailer that has a GVWR or Less. So the 1999 school bus w/25,500 GVWR I drive can pull any trailer that has a 10,000 gvwr or LESS. Notice, I CAN'T pull a 10,400 gvwr trailer if my Truck is 16,000 or more GVWR, because DOT starts counting(& adding) OVER 10,000lbs for trailers. You can DE-RATE the gvwr of the trailer only if You built it, or the factory does it when they stamp the plate on front of trailer. Though I have "heard" reputable folks say you can merely "declare" & REGISTER whatever GVWR you wish, it wouldn't seem likely you'd be permitted to de-rate a 25,500 gvwr trlr down to 12k gvwr. But i personally drove a 97 Ram Dually pulling a 56' 3-car wedge that had stamped 25,500 gvwr, meaning it Has to be de-rated to match the Rams' 11,000 gvwr (so 15k wedge's gvwr)

Just went on fords website here’s the numbers 2014 diesel F250 max towing 15,900. GCVWR 23500 F350 SRW max towing 15,900. GCVWR 23500 F350 DRW max towing 22,200. GCVWR 30500 F450 w/4.30 gears max towing 24700. GCVWR 33,000 2018 super duty towing capacity lots of variables based on how trucks set up in this year F250 max towing 14,000-14,700. GCVWR 20,600-25,700 F350 SRW max towing 13,600-20,400. GCVWR 20,200-28,700 F350/450 DRW max towing 27,300-34,000. GCVWR 36,000-42,800

Also another weight to watch is the weight of your load. I had a company that was using the kilogram scale. The 1900 kg load they wanted to put in my van was way over my legal limit. Kilograms converts to more than double in pounds....be aware of that on your paperwork.

I also have an F350(2014, 6.7 SRW). My truck MGWR is 11,200. Went to Ford website for my tow rating which stated 16K for gooseneck tow. Where did you get that 30K rating number you mentioned?

You are way off a ford max towing capacity is on there f450 with truck bed is 32k and change. I don’t know where on any data from ford you have found a srw F350 has a 30k towing capacity. Even the F350 duel wheel max tow package has I believe 31k max.

The question was how can you tow 30k with a F350 srw following fords listed capacity. I have had over a dozen ford super duty’s not saying they can’t cause I know they can I am saying legally or staying within manufacturers ratings

Life On the Road Our HotShot Life Where are you getting these number? They are off by almost 10,000lbs. Also its rating really don’t mean anything in the real world. All that matters is your not over on your payload, gvwr of truck and trailer and most important your tire ratings. You seem like a good guy trying to help but this info is not correct.
