We wrap up our first week of #quarantinecontent with this beginner poi combo that brings everything we've learned this week together! It's one thing to learn the poi tricks and another to combine them together into poi choreography--this will start to teach you things like repetition control as well as how to flow between tricks smoothly.
Lastly--I'm gonna take a break tomorrow and let myself breathe. When I come back do you want me to keep up with these daily tutorials? Have they been helping you learn? Keep calm? Is this a project that you'd like to see continue? Let me know down in the comments!
Here are the tutorials for the tricks you'll need:

I've watched your old tutorials and have been spinning for a while myself, but seeing you go through the basics again made me kinda realise that I need to really work on the fundamentals in order to clean up what I've been doing. Seeing you run through the basics again in a different light is definitely helping, so thanks for doing these videos. I would totally appreciate you continuing tutorials, even though you've probably said what feels like the same thing to you about a million times, hearing it explained again helps me learn and apply it to more advanced tricks.

It's also been very helpful to me...my thinking on what constitutes the basics has changed a lot since I did my beginner series and it's my hope that teaching poi the way I have been these past few weeks will make people less frustrated and feel like they have more control over the poi as they learn. Have no fear! I'm planning another 4 weeks worth of these tutorials as we speak--any suggestions for things you'd like to see?

its been really cool watching you teach all these tricks again and remembering where i was, not even 6 months ago (started september 27.. yes i marked the date in my calendar) Also i had a super amazing moment tonight. Ive been doing a sidewalk spin every night at dusk just outside my place. Tonight across the street in the apartments someone was singing and playing guitar. I dont even know if he knew i was down there spinning to his music but those walking by did (And those listening/watching from their balconys) It was a really cool moment of connection. And im so glad i have my poi with me, since im not actually at home with all my creative outlets. All i have are my poi and music so i would love if this continued.

Just wanted to stop by and say thank you, my friend donated a set of poi to me last week and I have been trying to learn, these combos are still way above my skill level but I greatly appreciate you sharing your knowledge and technique!

A bit late to the game but it's been fun, and frustrating, trying to spin! But incredibly rewarding. Excited to keep practising this today and hopefully be able to move on to the next one tomorrow ❤️

I'm still practicing the reel turns and feeling the momentum. Was kinda gutted that I wasn't ready to take another challenge on... Then watched this video and now I'm so excited that in a few days time I'll be doing my first combo moves!! Cool!! I love how we are seeing bits of your area we wouldn't normally...

Erka Doof getting things like reel turns down is such a big jump from just spinning as it’s the first tome you really need to control and think about things. It gets easier from there.

I am personally really into these videos! I got into poi in the summer but stopped because life. Your videos that start from scratch are encouraging me to pick it up again and my gf to start learning (just in the time be ready for festival season) 🥳🥳 would love to see them keep coming but definitely take care of yourself first if daily videos is too much work!!

Hey! I've had a set of poi for over a year, but never had the time or patience to really pick them up. This video series is EXACTLY what I need to stay safe this quarantine!! Its crazy, I went from feeling awkward and frustrated with poi to being able to follow along with this choreo!! I'm totally hooked, and this is gonna be what I'm doing with a lot of my quarantine. I'm so happy to see you've continued this series, I really cant thank you enough! Your friendly teaching spirit really comes through in these videos, and it makes it a lot easier to keep going, even when I've hit myself in the face 5 times in a row 😂😂

This seriously makes me so happy to hear. I've been hoping through all of this to get people stuck inside for quarantine connected to their bodies once again and it sounds like it's finding the mark. Please let me know if there's anything you're stuck on or specific topics you'd like me to cover!

Hi Drex! First off, I wanted to say that I absolutely love your channel and your content. My sister lend me her LED pois two month ago and sent me down a huge rabbithole by doing so. 😀Thanks to your tutorials I can now do a lot of tricks - didn't think I would be able learn so many things in such a short period of time. Thank your for that! 😀 I have one remark, though. Especially with this tutorial here, I got confused a lot and I think it is due to the fact that I am right-handed and that I constantly had to turn around in my head what I was seeing on the screen. I would be extremely helpful to see a mirrored version of everything you do as a special right hand tutorial. Maybe a short clip you could add every once in a while. The head camera perspective is helpful too, but it would be great to see the whole "choreo" or move while watching you from the front, but mirrored. I hope you understand what I mean. 😀Take care and keep up the good work! Rose from Germany

Loving all your beginner videos I just started a week ago but I've made a ton of progress in a short time. Mostly just learning the ingredients of this combo. I've got to practice more to get this down but I'm excited to keep going. And keep up these videos they are so well done and are easy to understand

I'm really enjoying your videos. I used to spin when I was in college, and I thought I was really good (it looked good at least) but I'm discovering now there's a lot I didn't know and couldn't even imagine it was possible. I'm not doing one different video every day because I can't give more than an hour practice a day, and I'm a slow learner, but it's been great! Thanks a lot!

I just started spinning last week and this series is really helpful! I started working on the reel turns and decided to just watch a few videos ahead to see where this was going and now I'm going to go back and work through them. My left hand is still pretty bad at plane control in wheel plane though. I think I've identified the problem but of course knowing what it is doesn't automatically fix it. How important is it for me to drill and try to get that plane perfect before going through these tricks and combo? I'm torn between thinking I should work on the problem first, and thinking I should work on it organically while doing something fun like these tricks.
