The backing track was produced from scratch by myself and the Brooklyn Charmers. This is strictly for entertainment and educational purposes. Enjoy!

Fuckin’ Denny sure knew his way around a goddamn fretboard. He’s one of my all-time favorite guitarists. Ever solo he played on SD a Dan track was pure gold.

One of the best solos ever created, alongside Dias' other underated solo from Aja. I think Dias was to Baxter as Felder was to Walsh, all outstanding guitarists, each bringing something new to the musical table. As for the solo, very nicely done.. I think Fagen said it best on hearing Dias play the solo live "Holy f***, that's great!"

Of all the amazing solos out there, this one keeps getting overlooked, even among Steely Dan fans. Thanks for doing it justice. I keep trying but cant keep up except at 0.75 speed at the moment. watching your left hand really helps.

That's beautiful. The steely Dan work by Denny, and Larry, and Skunk all prove that "The Best Guitarist" lists are truly meaningless. (Except to sell magazines to the musically shallow.)

I'm guessing you played the bass line too on the backing track? Really outstanding, from backing tracks to the solo itself. Really gobsmacked. What amazes me in general is that Dias sort of discarded his immense guitar playing talent to go whole hog into the computer biz. That blows my mind nearly as much as his solos do. It makes me wonder if his IT compadres have any inkling of what a giant they're walking amongst when they're geeking out.

Yes, this is What you get when everything is just perfect. Songwriting, arrangement, groove…. The ”solo” a very Young Porcaro did after this guitar solo is just great. Compare this with Herbie Hancocks cover and you Will find the original recording even better. Steely Dans best record?

Thanks for listening! The little bit is definitely tough to replicate. I don't think I got it quite right, but it's just a flurry of notes--I don't think Denny could've done it like that again.
