⋆。°✩ Hi Slayers! ⋆。°✩
In today's vid we have a little chit chat about fashion and sensory issues for adults and teens that are commonly found in neurodivergent, autistic, sensory processing disordered, or adhd peoples or just people who are particularly more sensitive to textures. As someone who experiences this also, and who also enthuses about fashion and outfits I wanted to make a video encompassing some helpful tips to navigate sensory process a little more. This is all just based off of some research and my own experience.
Some topics i speak about: fast fashion, instagram clothing trends, textures, feeling alone with sensory issues, clothes, outfits, and general yapping (its giving big sister who won't shut up)
anyways please let me know if you've has similar issues in the past or even very different ones! just wanted to make my channel more of a place to talk about some things :)
stay slay,
eileen x

I cut all the sleeves off my shirts two years ago and haven’t looked back😅 I can wear specific hoodies to layer and we’re all good to go!

Thank you so much for the ideas! It may help make other clothing tolerable. The only thing I feel truly comfortable wearing is a raincoat (ironically, it's an article of clothing that most neurotypicals don't enjoy wearing for some reason). I just like how the raincoat is smooth (mine doesn't have lining) and feels "right" against my skin. I wear a raincoat all the time (green raincoat and rain boots) almost as a dress, and the clothing I wear underneath (miniskirt, underwear, loose tank top) function as undergarments. I never understood when I was little why other kids cried when they were told to put their raincoat on, I cried when I was told to take it off. Thankfully my parents realized how important a raincoat is to me and let me wear one all the time after I explained I'm very okay with roasting in my raincoat as long as I get to wear it. Summertime can be challenging in places with no air conditioning (and winter when they crank the heat too high).

Aw that’s so interesting, I’m glad it was respected by your parents as a safe clothing choice! I can definitely understand the sort of emotional attachment to certain types of clothing, and I bet a raincoat feels very protective. Thanks for the comment 💖

@@eileens_behindthescenes Yeah, they were like "Jamie, I don't understand what it is with you and raincoats, but I know you're happiest wearing one" so they let me wear it. It does feel protective and safe and just "right" if that makes any sense. (The raincoat I'm wearing in my profile pic is the same one I'm wearing now to give you an idea what it's like)

Ugh i totally get it. My only real help is to kinda stretch them out a little before with your hands and maybe before you button them up all the way to do a couple squats.
