Have you ever listened to the actual song? Listen to it, or watch the song played live. There are three electric guitars, not one acoustic. Also, each of them plays every single note with a pick, no fingerstyle picking. Many covers on youtube are acoustic and fingerstyle, but the original song is all electric and used with a pick. Personally, I would say that it is not necessary to play this song on acoustic, it can be, but not meant to be.

@@CaptainButterWaffle I've been listening to the whole album over 10 years straight. I'm pretty good aknowledged of what post-rock is, in fact I've listened a dozen of bands represent the genre in its entirety. If you haven't noticed yet but this version is originally played by one dude who tied up together all the instruments (you can find his cover over here as it's most viewed by far). By this I was reffering to that version not to the composition itself (yeah it's not a "song" cause no one's singing). Even tho It's quite a good cover It doesn't show off the whole spectrum of the original composition (there're way more notes, dynamics, etc.). I mean you can't have all of that in it. And yeah he's managed to play a post-rock composition on an acoustic. Why I state It meant to be, because It's much sensitive and deeper sound provided by acoustic, it's an emotional and fingerstyle-wise nature, overal out-and-out. Even by comparing both I can easily say the acoustic (original) version is way better.
