Okay. Between you and A British Audiophile (Tarun) you've got me very curious to experience ProAc. How easy were these ProAcs to work with in terms of placement?
Quite easy in terms of room size and placement. They do not get boomy as long as you don't have them right up against room boundaries. You will better experience their depth rendering capabilities as you draw them out into the room. They work quite well in smaller rooms as well. Hope this helps!
I have got the DT8s with my Rega Aethos amplifier, for ME, the sound is excellent with great dynamics and good bass, soundstage and ease of room placement.
Great review. The DT8 having a 4ohm load, can a 50watts per channel class AB or a 20-30 watts per channel class A amplifier be able to drive them satisfactorily? Thank you.
For me, my DT8's reproduce amazing, natural playback. Vocals, wind instruments and tight bass is perfect for jazz. I won't be changing mine for many years! Gorgeous speakers!.. oh and that Lee Konitz Inside Hifi is amazing good taste in music my friend!
I have a pair run by 150wpc full class A (Advantage S2/S150 amps), Cambridge 851D DAC running Roon. Result? Absolutely amazing dynamics, open, warm mid-range typical of class A and smooth, airy treble. The dynamics (Amp has 1800VA Transformer and 120000 microfarads of capacitance) are phenomenal. Highly recommended.
Towards the end I mention that the DT8s give a decent chunk of the D20Rs capabilities. With the D20Rs you get even more detail and tonal realism. Hope this helps!
@@simonemessina1886IMO the bass is more defined on the D20R. The DT8 may initially appear (or sound) like it has more bass, but the definition is better on the D20R.
@@analogholic_reviews thank you for reply. I'm owning Elac Vela 407.2 do you think going to D20R will be an upgrade or sidegrade? Did you listen to Vela 407 bass, whats your opinion compared to D20R?
