The part of the talk that resonated with me was the idea of a patriarchal blessing being a compass pointing us in the right direction in our personal lives. I think too often we look at our blessing as a kind of fortune telling, and while he did say the promises from our blessing would be kept in this life or the next, I've found from my personal experiences that the good things in my life that don't line up exactly with my blessing were still found by following the direction of the compass I was given.
My Patriarchal Blessing knew me better than I knew myself at the time I received it. It’s substance of encouragement believed in me when I did not have the skills and experience to believe in myself. How different my life would be in absence of such personalized promises and guidance from the Lord. His Blessing is a life map that gives me continual confidence to surpass my own expectations.
A patriarchle blessing guides us closer to the saviour I can testify a patriarch must be a man of God and a man of humbleness and great faith I was ordained a patriarch in 2005 in my early years of my calling I strived to get closer to the lord I had no clue what to do or bless people I felt I wasn't worthy enough I but can testify again if you ask the saviour with a sincere heart he will answer which I what I did I was in tears many times alone in our ward chapel asking the lord what I should do then to my amazement after prayer not during a soft voice said the lord knows your fears already ) weeks later I found myself with the same gentle voice guide me throu the years it's difficult to give people the understanding but I can go about my daily life and then out of no where the lord tells me something it's a wonderful gift and very spiritual sometimes I don't understand why Christ gave me this opportunity I hope I've made the lord proud I urge anyone to pray more and more and forgive those that persecute you truly forgive and have a soft heart to your enemy's I can promise you it will bring you closer to God

As a patriarch I have been for 17 years I know this man Thomas s monson will have a place in heaven such a faithful man even in death he still teaches me to live the right way I would trust him with my life he was and is very close to God I can tell christ has a special place in his heart for him part of my patriarchal blessing says God loves me especially I was a little freaked out by this at first but now I understand I feel very privileged to receive messages from god I dont know why sometimes I receive information but I've been very in tune to getting revelation which has ultimately came true sometimes not right away this is why I fear god if I ever turned my back on him I know I would fully regret it I have been blessed in life I believe in helping others who persecute us and pray for those who hurts us full forgiveness to others bring us closer to god I have said this many times in church meetings I get a strong feeling this is one of God's biggest tests I base my role as patriarch around this if I cannot accept and love others then how can I ask for God's help during patriarchal blessings
I was troubled by my patriarchal blessing. Probably not the case for you but my blessing was almost identical to my brothers. Not really unique at all.
@@rabbithole2015 some blessings are sure and to the point. That may be your trial of faith in of itself. God may or may not have more to say to you if you choose to stick to the iron rod. I'm going to receive mine the day after Christmas this year. I'm 21 and married with a 3 month old and never been to the temple, and still done have the priesthood. It's a straight path and a true one. It's not easy to follow and it's not supposed to be
I testify the patriarchal blessing will protect you from temptations of evil because it is protecting me right now and forever. I testify that this church is the true church of the Lord. I testify that I am blessed by God Almighty who resides in Heaven. I know where I come from and I know that I finally have true peace.
I am so grateful for my patriarchal blessing! Lately I have been guided to reread and study it even more. I am going to memorize it. It has blessed and guided me in crucial decisions that I would otherwise have been unprepared for. When I seek to read it with the Spirit it's messages gain even more meaning and deeper and more specific application to my life! I am also grateful to know my heritage and lineage in the House of Israel. I am excited to see how it continues to guide and bless my life as I study and cherish it! President Monson was a special leader and a man of purity I believe he is side by side with peace in the saviours arms this man helped my testimony strengthen greatly I am watching this video to remember how to be a worthy patriarch as I've let sin into my life much more than I should have I have been a patriarch for 16 years now and it was the most purifying calling I've ever received please trust when I say when you speak to the lord with a sincere heart he will answer I love to be close to God becouse he has showed me many times the church is true when giving patriarchle blessings I cannot deny him the lord speaks to us if we live our lives as he asks I've had so many miracles most recently I was called at 11pm at night to attend a hospital there was an elderly lady very very unwell to medical team had doubts she would make it once I got there I greeted the family and then sat alone with her a few minutes I asked the lord to spare her I had this feeling very powerful come over me I could hear god say everything will be ok I fell to the ground in tears everything felt like peace no hurt or anger it was unexplainable peace and joy this lady had been in a coma for 3 months I received call later the next day around 5pm telling me she has come out the coma and responding to treatment I believe the saviour had a lesson for me not to doubt him and not doubt my faith i am sincerely sorry father for my sins you have gave me mercy I don't know why I deserve it lets this be a lesson to any in struggle the lord already knows your thoughts and trials if you let him in he will bless your heart joy
President Monson was and is a very spiritual man he is a man of god undoubtedly with incredible faith he provided me a lot of comfort I want to share a little of my patriarchal blessing it mentions the lord loves me especially and he has many great trails for me I could not understand this for many years but now I know Christ wanted to test my faith I was so close to giving up while serving as the second counsler to my bishop so many things were going wrong I could not understand I felt like I was being punished for no reason I prayed to god to ask why many times he is allowing this it felt like god forgot about me but in many things going wrong I always told myself i must remain faithful to god I cannot deny and will never deny my love for god no matter what happens my patriarchal blessing was very true I was tested immensely and now I understand why in nov 2009 I was ordained stake patriarch I can testify to anyone the lords already knows our difficulties it is not our way but his way we must remember this and remain close to god

President Monson, consumed his entire life in the service of his fellowmen. He lived a long life but, the efforts made, took their toll with his health. Great leaders religious and otherwise, ends their lives consumed by their imposed discipline and love to run the second mile. For this great people, entrance into Paradise must be a very awesome time to rest.
So grateful for my patriarchal blessing. It is a comfort and guide in my life. In the events of the world in 2020, a Liahona of light is a precious gift. Thankful for God's prophets on earth. #GiveThanks
Heber C. Kimball, first counselor to Brigham Young, claimed that "there is but one God that pertains to this people, and he is the God that pertains to this earth-the first man. That first man sent his own Son to redeem the world ..." (Journal of Discourses, vol. 4, p. 1).
President Monson, like many others church leaders and even common people who chose not to retire to the easy life that retirement provides but, to go on serving families, communities and the causes in which they believe, end up exhausted and sometimes without one more bit of energy. This is the best way to age. This is the best manner to prepare to die and meet God again.

A patriarch is an office which is sacred and a blessing upon who receives it our holy lord is in control of our words and thoughts only the fathers way a patriarchle blessing is given not ours we are a vessel the lord inspires to receive his word when a patriarch gives a blessing the saviour takes over I can testify this I say to anyone who has little faith to cry unto the lord for forgiveness and pray for those who plot against you it brings us closer to Jesus Christ I promise you this
You can still accomplish it! Cry unto the Lord for help and He will help you! He knew at the time of the blessing what your decisions where Going to be. If you decide to live a life of keeping the commandments and doing all the things asked of you in your blessing He will keep His promises and bless you!
My mom's patriarchal blessing told her to be a good lover to her non-LDS husband so he would eventually join the church. It told her a lot of things, but none of them came true. And she did everything her blessing commanded - she treated him like a king and he cheated on her anyway. Her patriarchal blessing told her all of her children would stay in the church. None of us are Mormon anymore. She eventually converted to Christianity, like we did. Hers was very wrong. But it's OK, God made promises to her, and me, in the Bible that He kept, we don't need the words of men to guide us when *Jesus* does that for us!
