So many people like to give Nye a lot of flack for not being a “real scientist..” but regardless of what your profession, you can still be a good teacher. And Bill is a really good teacher. You don’t have to agree with everything he says, but he spreads the word of science and rationality. And I for one will always think of him that way.

Bill you are the greatest most inspirational man in my life.

Well, that didn't go all to well! :( Love Bill Nye! I just don't understand why in the hell NASA won't accept him as an Astronaut... He was a Mechanical Engineer for Boeing.. The CEO of the freaking Planetary Society.. Has been involved in Engineering, Science, Physics and Astronomy for decades... Not to mention has an enormous fan base and would likely get positive public attention brought to NASA.. I can't think of a much more qualified candidate to go along on a mission! I wonder if it's due to all the risk involved and him being a popular public figure and all...

I have to argue something here. The reason the Earth's temperature is just right is indeed because of its atmosphere, but to say it like that would be to say that we came into existence first, and then the Earth was made to suit us. My argument is this: The Earth is just the right temperature because the creatures that evolved on it evolved specifically to adapt to its climate.

Carl Sagan for Astronomy? Have to say my, and probably his childhood has been changed due to the fact that I now find out he has denied a higher existence. Teachers are a huge part of a child's future and we as a society need to devote more effort to who and what those teachers stand for.

To me, the idea that my particles and atoms, the pieces of ‘This’ Universe that make me up, CANNOT be destroyed, not even by a god, (they can change but they can't be destroyed) this means my atoms, particles and right down to my ‘Super Strings’, are going to be in ‘This’ Universe for a very long time, makes it just great with me, Wherever, I am heading for, in the future, my atoms are going to be ‘here’, in ‘This’ Universe, Helping the progression of ‘This’ Universe. (Have to use ‘This’; is because of, right or wrong, the ‘M’ theory ‘may’ show, Many.) Wherever, my ‘psyche’ whines up, it will still be in ‘This’ Universe.
