In 2018, the artists Beyoncé and Jay-Z (The Carters) recorded the Apeshit music video at the Louvre in Paris as part of the release of their album Everything Is Love. Several of the museum's (and art history's) best-known works appear in the video, but in a whole new context. Beyoncé and Jay-Z's music video, which has become iconic today, has been watched over 200 million times. The video has contributed to the world-renowned art museum's visitor figures rising to record levels and the Louvre offering its visitors a tour linked to the works that are included.

Throughout history, artists have been inspired, interpreted and learned from each other. The artists, but also the rest of us, are links in a constantly ongoing image flow through time, which is based on what was previously done and seen by many. The art of the time has inspired later artists to make their own interpretations, which has since inspired others to further interpretations, much like an art's whispers throughout history. Certain works of art and motifs have become iconic and reappear, not only in art but also in advertising, fashion, music videos, movies, games and more.

2018 spelade artisterna Beyoncé och Jay-Z (The Carters) in musikvideon Apeshit på Louvren i Paris som en del av lanseringen av deras album Everything Is Love. Flera av museets (och konsthistoriens) mest kända verk förekommer i videon men i ett helt nytt sammanhang. Beyoncés och Jay-Zs musikvideo, som i dag har blivit ikonisk, har setts av över 200 miljoner gånger. Videon har bidragit till att det världskända konstmuseets besökssiffror har stigit till rekordnivåer och att Louvren erbjuder sina besökare en tur kopplat till de verk som är med.
