I love how at the beginning Manly keeps going into the lake and then a timeskip happens and then it's dusk. Just implying he tried for a long time before giving up.
Please play Lakeview Cabin 1 + 2 the full game. It is a masterpiece. Lakeview 2 NEVER got the love and attention it deserved. This is one of my favorite game devs.
@mindofjohn4956 I hadn't realized he had never played until he said it! For a man who's a badass hero who plays horror games for a living, I actually flinched when he said he never played Lakeview Cabin. I'm hopeful he plays it one day.
I'm a latecomer who only got to know of this guy's works through Hunsvotti. Roope clearly has a knack for suspenseful adaptive music in his games, and I love it. Finn devs really do have a way of producing unique stories of horrors set in the rural hinterlands. Sauna 2000, Saivo...My Summer Car...
Lakeview came out a year before house, for reference Lakeview cabin has a LOT of weird lore, what you just played is an in universe movie about a guy who sacrificed his wife to dark gods, said dark gods actually exist and a cult wants to bring the main character of said movie to life
Lakeview cabin, the original flash game, came out in 2013, three years before the original version of House in 2016. Lakeview cabin collection did come out a year before house though.
Didn't know that Lakeview Cabin got a remake! Sweet! I remember watching H20Delirious and Markiplier playing this game as a kid back during the mid 2010s.
Yeah. Nobody knew. Which is wild. It came out years ago. Lakeview Valley with is a parody of Stardew Valley and Lakeview Cabin 2 which is also amazing.
Frrr! I still remember being a mere toddler and watching Markiplier laugh his ass off when the did the closet option! (I don't remember what all the spots were but if you went in the cupboards with another character they would start boning)
@@y0g_s0th0th lmao more like 6! I have a terrible memory honestly so I could be wayyy off. I was born 2006, I don't remember what year those were posted
Play the whole lakeview series, dude. The games are incredibly good, darkly funny, and have a TON of stuff to explore. Right up your alley and it'd be really fun to watch you play them. I think this video is testament to that.
Funnily enough, I brought up this series pretty recently because of how many solutions it has for a horror game and that you figure them out. For instance, you can pick up and easily kill the second monster by throwing it into a lit fireplace. You just need to realize is that it's small enough to pick up.
i love how manly, after unnecesarily exploding a gas can near a fetus moving really fast with a shotgun, immediately attempts to mow his lawn because its just a random instinct
I played the original, and this is a good remake that is largely faithful. In this version, there do seem to be more options for dispatching the - ahem - "second wave" on top of graphical improvements, because I remember needing to follow a specific path, or maybe I just wasn't that creative ╮ (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.) ╭
I love him probably my favorite game RU-vidr by a long shot shows the hidden gems always and can read perfectly and is smart has a photographic memory. Idk how he does it almost uploads every single day plays some long or hard games too and cuts them down for us
I love how Manly only shot the baby with the shotgun to buy himself time to get to the lawnmower, but it ended up hitting the gas canister and almost taking them both out. 😂😂😂
5:35 He watches the deer get caught in the bear trap, and you watch the gears turn, wondering what he's gonna do. And he immediately turns around and grabs the axe. This is why I am subscribed to this channel.
_Back to the past_ Lakeview Cabin I think was from early 2010-2015 time. House came after. It's been a long time - it's hard to decide which one I liked better. This had cleaner sprite work maybe. I remember the girls sunbathing on that island were topless in the original lol. Otherwise, the bear trap, axe, etc were the same. The original had topless girls sunbathing on the island and the deer looked more 'realistic' so I think the change to being clothed and to the cartoony deer version probably better for today's audience. You only missed using a bucket of water in the sauna lol, otherwise you were wonderful!!
THIS MAKES ME SO HAPPY!!! Manly is my favorite RU-vidr and Lakeview Cabin is definitely one of my favorite series, I hope they make more for a manly to play or perhaps he will play the old ones.
I hope you do a video on Lakeview cabin Collection, Lakeview Valley, and Lakeview Cabin 2! I'd play them in that order as well - great games and would highly recommend!
As someone who has helped Quality Assure Lakeview Cabin 2 during its time in early access, I couldn't recommend the series enough! It's the perfect package of staying true to the horror movies being parodied in each episode while also mixing in various puzzles that often lead to you thinking of creative ways to kill the various slashers you come across. Ever wanted to distract a killer with dirty magazines before dropping a grill on their head? Or how about locking a killer in a panic room laced in gasoline before setting it on fire? Or maybe you just want to throw an unstoppable monster off the roof of a penthouse while they're too busy compulsively cleaning the mess you make? If this has you sold, please feel free to check out the full game of Lakeview Cabin 2 as well as the games that came before like Lakeview Cabin Collection and Lakeview Valley!
I recommend playing Lakeview Cabin Collection. Its a underated masterpiece in my opinion and i remenber wasting lots and lots of hours replaying it again and again when i was younger
Ugh, the Lakeview Cabin games were SO SO good. I am so glad the first one got a remake, like damn, they truly deserve it. Hope you play the originals someday!
Surprised to see a Lakeview Cabin remake! I imagine the wife was pushed into the lake after the guy found out she's pregnant. The alcohol is also next to the little flashback where the wife looks like she's scolding him.
Lakeview cabin is one of those absolutely astounding games which is ambitious but lives up to its vision. The multiple stories and the multitude of interesting ways that you can address the threats is insane.
Finally, a new Manly video to take my mind off of the miserable existence that we all live in on this godforsaken planet full of depression and existential crisis.
Finally someone gets it. I always tell other people that this is the reason I stay up so late to watch Manly videos and they always ask if I’m okay. OFC IM NOT.
**me, up at quarter to two in the morning...having destroyed my apartment with diatomaceous earth, earlier, because my partner and I are struggling to get rid of fleas... And I have to go to a mandatory training event in eight hours:** "THIS IS FINE!"
man I played this all the way back in middle school. started watching you a few months back and subscribed and seeing this game after so long makes me even more happy than I was to be part of the community.
Woah what a classic. I love Lakeview Cabin. Pleasantly surprised to see a remake. And genuinely surprised to hear you never played a single one of the series before. Hope you try them out and enjoy it. Also hope the rest gets a remake too.
Ah, Lakeview Cabin. I watched playthroughs of all the games growing up, so the series has a special place in my heart. You don’t have to, Manly, but if you played them all, that would be awesome.
Normally you would pick up the baby and throw it into a lit furnace. I didn't expect him to shoot the damn gas canister to kill it with the explosion. I guess that did the trick, lmao
Had to go through that last year, it’s definitely a scary thing lol. But nah, don’t let yourself overthink it, yeah it can be pretty overwhelming at first, but once you let yourself relax and just get in the rhythm of things it’ll be super chill! You just gotta give yourself some room to breath, and try to understand that you’re learning a lot of new things at once, so don’t hold yourself to having to figure everything out immediately.. that’ll come over time. Good luck!
I've been waiting for almost a year for manly to get into the lakeview series. It's so good and perfect for manly. Can't waitfor the other parts of the series.
Honestly hoping you'll play the other lakeview cabin games, along with lakeview valley. Always wanted to watch someone find all the secrets in that game.
I’m guessing the carnival you could see in the background (as well as the after credits scene of the kids breaking into it) is the hub in Lakeview Cabin Collection 2. I can’t tell, though, if the “to be concluded” message means another game is coming out or if it’s just referring to LCC2 as the conclusion (since that game, as far as I know, should be complete).
Oh man, now this is a blast from the past. I didn't expect a remake, that's a nice surprise. I like the new style, I think it's a logical change given the time that's passed.
lore in Lakeview Cabin games is super complex. But it’s pretty hard to untangle. Also Lakeview valley is a part of that universe too! If I remember correctly.
Great video! I always liked how this game plays on the trope of not looking back at the monster because it will hop up again, but I also like that you can just go ham on it with an axe. Have you considered playing Heilwald Loophole again now that the full game is out? Even if you don't plan on it, I look forward to your next video.
This is awesome. I loved playing through the collection. I remember the gratuitous nudity in the old series was pretty funny. And part 5 had a very strange portion I'm sure all old fans remember. 😅
I remember finding this game in a gaming website a long time ago when I was just a kid and I got so scared that I stopped playing the game. It brings me a lot of nostalgic memories to see you playing this game 😔.
This was by far the funniest Manly video of all time. I cannot believe how many hilarious things he was able to do in such a small map, both intentionally and unintentionally, with the funniest possible ending. I did not expect a game about a dead pregnant woman to be comedy gold.
I played the original of this when it was on new grounds as a flash game on one of my old channels, it made me scream *SO* loud. I never finished it XD
I remember watching this game’s original version a long time ago so seeing manly explore it for his first time makes me remember watching it for the first time.
Lakeview Cabin was one of those games that helped me become more and more interested with horror games. I find it funny how the original Lakeview Cabin (first game) had scarier music than the remake but the pregnant wife in the remake looks scarier. Honestly can’t complain, both the original and remake are enjoyable to watch and play (only played the original years ago though) I also like how derpy that deer looks
