As a trained mechanical engineer (apprenticeship in 1960) and then MD of International UK Linear Bearing Co, I get great pleasure in seeing you using your broad skills set in your workshop. Like you I think it is important to show and use these skills in an effort to encourage the next generation and to save the skill of Fixing things. Now retired I get great pleasure in working in the garage making things, using my Myford lathe and have recently completed scale Stuart Turner beam engine. I would absolutely love a welding video. I'm trying to teach myself blacksmithing and so many projects would benefit from welding know how. Something I've never even attempted. Ace video yet again Dom.

Strange Dom how life works out but sometimes you are in the right place at the right time and The Repair Shop and the viewers also get the benefit. Would love to see a welding video for beginners. I had one go at electric arc welding and realised how difficult welding is! Regards Keith
If you're suffering with hayfever, try a tablespoon of Organic Apple Cider Vinegar (the stuff with the bits in) in a mug of water in the morning. I've got grass pollen allergies and it helps relieve some of my symptoms. Doesn't work for everyone though (I'm also not a doctor!) Love your work on the repair shop btw :D

Hi Dom, I too have a Landrover and would love to see some welding repairs especially repairs to the door bottoms where they are prone to rust badly. Keep up the great work you do and look forward to more video clips. 👍👍👍
Great Q&A Dom, would love a video on how to weld - hopefully will be getting a 72 Bay which needs a few non-structural rust repairs doing, and would love to be able to do it myself!
Like others have said, some welding tutorials would be good. Your beginners guide was excellent. I've just noticed what must be a first for me. 800 thumbs up and not a single thumbs down. You've probably noticed some people just love to hate. Keep 'em coming Dom.
I have just found your utube channel and spent the last couple of days watch all that you have posted, really enjoyed them. It is great to see someone with passion at what they do, I enjoy the garden as well managed to get most of the seeds planted my other passion is woodworking and woodturning and cam get lost in the workshop for hours without realising it. Look forward to seeing more of your projects
Hi Dom Even now I still look away from the welding Even though the light from the video is not strong enough to harm my eyes. The first welding I did was stick welding for an engineering firm, then the welding you didn’t mention Oxy Acetylene gas welding, then quite late I discovered Mig welding, rebuilt the cab floor in an old Dodge horse box for the wife.
I did a tiny intro to welding course, but it was just some basic hands on, and voila here's your chair. I'd love to know a little more about the set ups, settings, decisions, etc. My chair is cool and I'd love to know more. It was the last thing I did before it all went pandemic. Now the Tinkering School is gone.

Just to chip in my 1d's worth - yes please to the welding video, something I've always wanted to do. Maybe my wife could get me something to weld with for my 60th birthday (if you can recommend a useful beginners but usable model) ?

Apologies if this question has been asked before but when you are out and about filming do you use a selfie stick and if so what make etc. Never used one before but now thinking it has a lot of uses.
Dom it’s great to hear of your yearning for learning. As an ex teacher and father of two (sons as it happens) but we all enjoy learning new skills. Education and schools is not just about learning a skill but about learning to learn. Great channel. Keep it up.
Hello Dom Just found your channel, always enjoyed your work on Repair Shop I build Gauge 1 model locos etc and after soldering I used a diluted sulphuric acid to clean the parts, sulphuric acid has become difficult to find, have you any experience or knowledge of electrolysis cleaning of brass/copper parts?
