Great Video Todd!! Always timely and helpfull. You said to avoid the extreem front and back of the roof but did not explain why. What are the risks if the extreem front of the Motor home roof has been penitrated by a solar panel?
Thanks or Sorry GREAT video haha no thanks for the information about the caulk. I also would like to know what is the best for a rubber roof? Just ran across your videos a month or so and immediately subscribed not into boondocking so solar is not on my radar but still learned something in this video. Keep them coming
Question regarding storing your unit for the winter that has solar and lithium batteries. Do you recommend turning solar controller off and removing batteries? Or just let the system function? Thank you
We have a on-going issue with; every time my wife runs the kitchen sink water faucet the foul odor from the gray take going up either thru the sink drain or under the sink where the pipes are. There is no valve to keep the smell out of the sink area. The piping goerds into the wall and out a vents on back of trailer. The label says do not leave your gray tank dumping vlave open or gases will come up into the kitchen area. Our dump valves are closed and we don't even have the slinky stinky hose connected. There's always plenty of water in the sink trap which is suppose to stop gases from coming in. I have taken the outside vent cover off and it is just an open pipe to vent, no valve of any kind there. What is going on? We have a Grand Design 2023 Reflection 150 226RK 5th wheel. Never notice any smell the 1st few months but we smell it now every time we run water into the kitchen sink.
I'm a retired INDUSTRIAL HVAC / R TECH. Looking for a part time job. Not too many campers and R.V 's with 300 ton A/C units on them. But I'm well versed most aspects of electrical and standard refrigeration. Not a clue on solar. What are the liability concerns if a certified inspector misses something during a pre purchase inspection. ?
I would agree and disagree with butyl. If you have a filon roof like a winnebago..you have nothing for the screw to bite on. And the tape needs that pressure to protect.
