I had the original Spring Brake Thingy on our 2015 RZR for many thousands of miles and hundreds of uses. That machine would start rolling away when in park on our basically flat driveway. The replacement 2019 RZR has much better resistance to rolling on a slope, but as you say getting the transmission into gear after parking on a slope is a problem. I bought a new one from them at this year’s Rally also. Super easy install and so many advantages. Thanks to them for a great product and to you guys for spreading the word. 👍👍😎
They do make the Spring Brake Thingy for the KRX, I have one on mine. Yes, the KRX has a parking brake but those are only on the rear brakes. The Spring Brake Thingy is awesome on really steep hills.
They do not at this time because the KRX had a parking brake. Just like you it probably wouldn’t be a bad idea for the KRX to have one as well still. -Garrett
We just figured they didn’t, honestly we didn’t do much research on it because we just had it installed on the Pro and figured because of the parking brake they wouldn’t do on for the KRX.
Awesome product! I need to pick on up before our trip to Colorado this year. When you are using the park brake, so you keep the pro in high or low or do you set the brake and then shift into park?
Just an FYI - The Hillbilly Brake has been around for quite a while and essentially does the same thing. The only reason I mention this is that the Spring Brake Thingy is NOT lockable for the Honda Talon version, whereas the Hillbilly Brake is lockable. Steve
