Now that my daughter Sara is an MD (yay june 5 graduation!!! ) and starting her Neonatal Pediatrics Residence, I am making her a tray of perfumes for her new adult/doctor (omg my daughter is a DOCTOR) life that she can use for the hospital so I am taking all sorts of notes.
Great line up. I am going to get a sample of Rania J Musk. Also I think I saw Molton Brown on Saks???,??!! Give it a look.. I looked at the entire line whereever I was. Love much.
This is the one category that’s still lacking from my collection🤔🤔. You have spoken about Ode de Dullness and I didn’t realise that I have a travel spray from Skins Cosmetics Fragrance Box🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️. I would also include Nothing But Sea and Sky here cos for me it’s very quiet on my skin or is it me😂😂. Stay gorgeous 🥰🥰
Definitely barely a skin scent. I can't decide if it's just so very soft or if I go anosmic to it considering the ambroxan. It's nice while I can smell it.
Excellent job on this video !!! It's not easy to convey the subtle differences and nuances of skin scents. My favorite category. So crazy how different our experiences are when these frags are on our personal skin. Ode To Dullness is so fleeting on me. Yet, L'eau Papier clings to me for hours, and comes across like orris and thick warm rice, almost lactonic. I WISH I got the woody / paper 'thing' on my skin. I'm jealous !!
Veronica! You look gorgeous!! 🤩🤩🤩 you always do, but there is something extra specially stunning about you today, your hair, the make up, wow! Here with my toast and coffee! ☕️ xo
Funnily enough I find L'eau Papier (sample) to last quite well, especially considering it's an EDT and very little lasts on my skin. Thank you for mentioning Ceramic. I paused the video to order a sample so i can decide between that and L'eau Papier. Love the pink lips; such a pretty colour 💖
Another 13 is so good and big compliment getter!! Musc Moschus is phenomenal too. If you are interested in the Rania J house they have a wonderful amber called Ambre Loup. If you like strong musky "dark" Ambers then give it a sniff.
I absolutely love your videos and recommendations! I have 6 of the mentioned scents and you have such a beautiful way of describing them ❤. Thank you for your videos!!
Living over a candy store as a kid would have been my dream. We lived a block away from a bodega and I recall going there with my friends every day and buying our favorite gum and candy 🍭 🍬
😮caramel bats, sugar daddies, and sugar babies! Milk duds, and snowcaps. Of course for FREE candy my great grandparents always had those pastel buttercream mints! Loved the texture of those! I never see those for sale anywhere tho? Is this something you can only access when you pass a certain age/level up??!
I cannot smell Another 13, Cheeky Smile, or Essentric Molecules but L’eau Papier is fairly strong for me. Veronica: have you tried Diptyque Olene - I think you will like that one. It is like jasmine tea.
Hello Veronica! I believe AM Ceramic is as amazing as you describe it, even samples are sold out. Now I want it even more. Andrea Maack has been killing it! 💜
L'Eau Papier has a sesame note that, to my nose is warm and savory. The first time I sampled it, it reminded me of a cracker or bread. It has the warm quality of a savory comfort food, if that makes any sense at all 😅 . Iris Shot is similar to it with the warm almond note. I got Iris Shot not too long ago and that's what I noticed about it more: how it reminded me of that warm note in L'Eau Papier
So basically this whole video is on my wish list 😂I’ve been wanting Creame De Cuir for years but I always end up buying something else. I watched the inspiration behind 312 on the Fragrance Guy channel and it sounds amazing
I just tried a DIE FOR PERFUME, It is called Sospiro Maraschino :) One of my new favorites of all time, just though I would share. Only for dreamy desert lovers.
I too remember penny candies although the choice was limited... most were 5 cents. Good memories. 😃 For work skin scents, I have worn small doses of Musk 12, Ode to Dulness and Missing Person. I'm not a fan of Glossier You... and a few Clean fragrances. I'm thinking of getting Not Your Baby because it's gentle and close to the skin as well. Also bought 3 mild all natural perfume oils from some small local brand that stay close to skin. 😊
Yes, we had penny, nickel, dime, and quarter candies. We also carried half dollars in those days and BOY! That was candy bonanza! 🤣 Perfume oils are a great choice for more laid back fragrance days. 💖💖💖
15 cents for a candy necklace, and the rest to 1 cent chocolate. We received a dollar from my grandmother and walked to the “penny candy store” then to the old fashioned fountain for a cherry coke for 50 cents. Those were good days ❤ My skin scent today is Le Point G by Veronique Gabai - not a soft scent, but skin-like with leather. Love this one!
I have been lusting over THEE perfect your skin but better AKA musky ethereal type of scents. BDK 312 sounds right up my alley but as a fragrance lover with an extensive (and probably impressive) collection, I’m trying to indulge less and use more. Great suggestions!
312 smells almost exactly like Beach Walk to me! And my husband thought I was trying to trick him when I got him to smell these 2 scents, (312 one one hand, Beach Walk on the other) he was sure they were the same one! BW is saltier to me tho.. 😊
Hi beautiful Veronica ❤ I tell you the older I become I’ve realized that for everyday wear these are the types of fragrances I reach for, l’Eaur papier has been on my radar ( I don’t own any Diptique!) lately I’ve been reaching for Surge Lutens Dent De Lait 😉
Hiii Sunny! 🥰 Yes, this portion of the collection is growing recently and I have no regrets! I'm sure you have some beautiful ones in this category. 🙏🙏🙏
My grandfather used to give Michael and I a quarter and he spend most of his on a little Debbie cake and only have five cents for candy. I got all candy! Those were the days
Hey Veronica. This one of my favorite categories of fragrances and I’m definitely looking to expand my collection. You loved above the candy store in the 80’s. OMG!! 25 cents could do a lot of damage back then
Yes, girl! We LOVED going downstairs to the candy store with our coins and loading up on all the little penny and nickel candies. When we were fancy, we got dime and whole quarter candy too! 🤣🤣🤣
To me it has a peppery smell at first, maybe it’s the sesame? It also smells comforting cozy and « creamy airy ». The steam of white rice, and a musk like not a perfume smells. (Now not a perfume smells bad to me, but for a while it was amazing!)
Oh my gosh, Veronica! I had to totally pushed BDK Creme DE Cuir to the side because, for some reason, it was so overpowering to me...BUT now that you have shared to spray lightly, I will give it another chance. The last time I wore it I had to layer it with something else to tone it down a bit. However, I must say I really WANT to love it. My journey is just so slow. Hopefully, this will do the trick. Thanks for the suggestion
Oh my goodness, 173, the way that you described it reminds me of a candy necklace. I used to love candy necklaces. My sister wears lauren. I think it kind of smells like a candy necklace. It brings back so many great memories of na childhood. Running around barefoot in the summertime with my sister eating candy necklaces.
as a kid we had a man that turnt the front part of his house into a store i will never forget Mr. Paradise penny candy for days, when i went to college and came home he had cancer but beat it, 2yrs later i came back the neighborhood an he passed away i was so emotionally and i cried so hard, he was the sweetest person you ever meet, his kids took over but it was never the same.
Oh Theresa! 😞😞😞 I teared up just reading this comment. I have some similar figures from "around the way" that I feel that way about. I know exactly what you mean about getting emotional. 😩
This is soooo my style of fragrance!! ..at least ONE of my fragrance styles! I'm a complicated woman Lol 😅😅 I'll definitely be adding some of these to my sample wishlist!!
I couldn’t smell another 13 the first 5 times I tested it in stores. I decided to blind buy and test at home and I was blown away. It became my signature scent for about a month. It’s one of my top 5 fragrances at the moment. A perfume that smells very similar is Bond No 9 Governors Island which is very underrated. It’s smells like another 13 with incense and woods. If you can smell that then you have an idea of what another 13 smells like.
LOL My aunt owned a candy store. Those tipped glass containers full of loose candies like a rainbow. 2 Bazooka's for a penny. Pixie Stix a foot long. Bonomo taffy. Cinnamon buttons, ow! Wax bottles with sugar syrup in them. It was heaven.
Yes! Penny candy!! I grew up in a country rural town in Ohio and i walked to the newspaper stand and they had penny candy. Grape swedish fish was my favorite.
Just discovered your channel this week and 💖 it! Now I have to try the Rania J fragrance. Santal Massoia was a love at first sniff… so comforting. An article on NST quotes the perfumer saying the milky qualities of those woods give hints of dried fruit, dulce de leche and flowers. Did you get to try Cabriole, the children’s fragrance? It also has sandalwood, but with light honeysuckle and Osmanthus.
So ironic I clicked on this video. I have recently become addicted to the smell of L’eau Papier. I got Musk #3 from BBW and had to find if it was duping something. That lead me to L’eau Papier. Haven’t gotten the original yet only the oil version from Oil Perfumery. I am glad I saw your review of it. Now, I’m still gonna buy it…lol. But I will slow my roll u til I can find it for a good discount.
Molecules 01 surprised me. I thought I got influenced into getting something that doesn't smell like anything, but then I got complimented on it. I guess it's a fragrance that I'm anosmic to but projects to others. I call it my "giving and selfless" offering.
I have tested Lineage and own 312. To me, Lineage is much more marine. 312 is closer to L’Papier to me. L’Papier puts the rice forward and 312 moves light florals forward
Yes I got BDK 312 Saint Honore when it released and got a saltiness/salty skin/mineral/ambergris thing right away. It's quite noticeable to me but the florals and pink pepper tame it. It's really good.
I am enjoying L’Eau Papier but I’m surprised you can’t smell it. I find it to be quite strong and I definitely get a hint of steamed jasmine rice. I have a travel spray of Cheeky Smile but I have yet to do a proper test drive. My favorite scents in this molecular category are JHAG Moscow Mule and Arizona Bloom. I like Another 13 but I don’t care to support Lauder’s ridiculous price gouging endeavors. 😂
I like Skin & Vanilla from Clean, and La Mia Perla as skin scents. The first is fresh and slightly sweet. The second is more comforting with vanilla and a suede note.
Good evening Veronica 😊. Loving the look, gorgeous. Oh Candy Store's take me waaay back😂. When life was filled with care free summers. Penny candy from the house down the street. Pickles stuff with chews, I wasn't a pickle stuff with peppermint. Okay now that I've gone down memory lane. Let me get into the video 😊😂.
I’ve been testing samples and have run across a few skin scents. Jhag sunny side up Hermetica peonypop Floraiku I am coming home. And today I’m trying memo winter palace. And then there is my old friend aerin amber musk. Some of these are pricey though, but they are all very interesting lovely close to skin. Very inoffensive
Really lovely vid Veronica 🩷💜. I originally purchased Not a Perfume and couldn’t smell a darned thing on my skin… a few months later, I use it as a stand alone skin scent, so fresh and clean on me ❤️🧡. I get visuals when you describe things Veronica and I can be in hysterics eg with L’Eau Papier….’ You need to be really, really, really, reaaaally close to smell it” my visual was of a fish tank with those hilarious sucker fish 😂😂. Thank you , love everything you do ❤️🩷🧡🥰🙋🏻♀️🇦🇺 Stani
Thank you so much, Stani! 💖🥰 I have fun filming these videos and I'm glad you enjoy them! I'm going to give Another 13 a second go. Maybe I'll pick up the magic this time. 🤷🏻♀️
Nice list, Veronica. Love L'eau Papier! I don't get freshly printed paper, though. Jus Box's Cheeky Smile sounds very interesting. Currently, I am enthralled with Carioca Heart from that line. Which is the exact opposite of a quiet, work friendly fragrance. Lol.😂 But that mango is sooo yum. For work, I wear Tuttotondo's Riso EDT, which is fantastic for the Spring. The notes include citrus and rice. It's lovely, quiet but noticeable and only 42 €...
Love this list, Veronica! I was a little nervous about the notes of 312 Saint Honoré, but after burning through a sample I went ahead and ordered a FB which should arrive on Tues, yay! Spicy notes are really prominent on my skin, so the red pepper lasts through the whole wear on me. For me it's a lightly spicy musk with a bright orange blossom opening. So beautiful and easy to wear.
You look gorgeous, Veronica!! Normally, I love bombastically loud fragrances but I've found a "second skin" like scent I'm loving in Spring! Its Olympéa Solar. At first, I thought it was too soft but I've come to appreciate it for what it is and surprisingly, I've gotten a ton of compliments. 💗🤟🏻
Your lip color = divine! IDK, I dont think "skin scents" are my jam. Tried Clean Reserve and it didnt work out, didnt do anything for me. I would go more for a body cream if I need something light. My brain doesnt want to spend money on light perfumes!
My SOTD is one of my favorite skin scents, plus a touch of yummy ... M. Micallef Royal Muska, older version, hoping it hasn't been changed. Can't imagine you wouldn't love it. Etat Libre d'Orange, You Or Someone Like You is one skin musk scent I've just discovered, had a sample and I'm buying it! Was an immediate love. I'd also recommend Apothia If (Los Angeles based store, they have sample sets.) Sage by Sage Machado is a *gorgeous* green musk, Perfect Veil by Sarah Horowitz, both are at Luckyscent and they're affordable. This has always been my favorite category of scents as Coty Wild Musk Oil was one sexy thing that started my frag journey. (could go on & on but it's 1:30 am. had to watch this video! :D OK, Cheeky Smile has just shot up to my "Must Have" list. 312 smells herbal? ... like the OG Herbal Essence? A n d that's another JHAG that I want. Just bought Musc Invisible, haven't even opened it yet. (I'm a Barefoot Dreams girl, too. Have two of the blankets. ahhh. so squishy soft. night night now. loved the video, *always* love hearing about the scents of which you speak.) :)
Hiiii! You are so sweet to watch late at night! Thank you! 💖 Thank you also for these lovely recommendations! So many great fragrances to try. 🥰🥰🥰 I wouldn't say 312 Saint Honoré smells like OG Herbal Essences. More like spa style shampoos that have herbal touches. Hope that helps! And YESSS to all Barefoot Dreams products! Woohoo! Amazing stuff. I have robe on RIGHT NOW! 😆😆😆
Dyptique is a house I’m interested in. And, I like clean, fresh, green scents. I just haven’t bit the bullet on anything yet. I think all of their scents are basically second skin scents, no?
You look incredible, Veronica! And I bet you smell incredible, too! You featured so many of my faves, like Musc Moschus, Ode to Dullness and Clean Skin. Love your comparison of BDK's 312 Saint Honore to Lineage. When I first sampled it I thought it smelled a lot like Another 13, though I seem to be the only one getting that. I'd love to see you review Diptyque Fleur de Peau - L'eau Papier is getting all the attention, but IMHO FdP is a much better skin scent, full of cottony musks that just smell so fresh and clean. A very unique scent I love is Etat Libre Orange's Ghost in the Shell, which smells like a milky musk with a slight ozonic quality - skin scent of a robot, perhaps? 😆And my fave musk/skin scent along with Rania J is Initio's Musk Therapy - I could bathe in that stuff!
Thank you kindly! 💖 Musk Therapy is delightful. I'm mentioning it in the upcoming musk video. Glad you enjoy some of these. I've seen great reviews for Fleur de Peau and I've tried Ghost in the Shell - quite nice! 💖💖💖
Hey Veronica! I tried glossier you today and loved it and think this may belong in this category. I looove Hermes Santal Massoia! It has something horse like in the best way and I’ve gifted decants to my horse lover friends. I think it’s one of the best creamy wood scents ever. ❤
Good morning Veronica!!😘 Penny Candy! My favorites were Fireballs, paper strips with Candy Dots on them, Wax Lips and fingernails, so many more! They were in big glass jars at the candy store. So much fun 😂 I haven’t tried many skin scents. I remember when you did the video with Bryson and he couldn’t smell Another 13 either!😂 Would love to see him on your channel again. ❤ I was going to buy a travel spray of L’eau Papier on Mercari, but it sold. Speaking of Mercari….have you seen the fees that have been added to buyers????There’s a mystery ‘Service’ fee that increases proportionately to the price of the item you’re buying….and a processing fee to take my money!😢Plus tax and shipping! I’m not amused😬 Some of these fragrances sound lovely! I’ll think I’ll try one. Not sure which one. 😁 I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Always fun hanging out with you!❤️🥰😘
The paper strips with the candy dots! Oh, the memories! 🥰🥰🥰 I am going to try to wrangle Bryson back on the channel sometime soon. He's a hoot! Mercari's new fee structure is just... perplexing. What were they THINKING? Disappointing. I lowered all my prices to account for the changes, but I suspect Mercari sales will be down for everyone with these changes. Oh well. Thanks for watching, my friend! 💖🥰💖🥰
Great video Veronica. Many fragrances piqued my interest.I just got a sample of Creme de Cuir. Have smelled it yet. I do have Candy and it's good. L'Eua Papier has been going around and I will get my nose on it. Thank you for sharing ❤
I love Musc Moschus! I’ve gone through two samples, and really want a full bottle! I’m nose blind to Another 13 and Clean Reserve Skin, so I need to go more musky or powdery for skin scents. These days, it’s Nuee Bleue from Violet for me.
This is my favorite category of fragrances and these recommendations are amazing 😻 I have a decant of bdk 312 st honore and I absolutely love it-I totally understand your description of it, like the concrete and glass, saltiness, etc-it’s very unique imo. And Cheeky Smile is such a good one too, I don’t understand why it’s so underrated either bc it’s just gorgeous. Also, with Another 13, definitely keep trying it out on your skin. I’ve been anosmic to scents like molecule 01 and the more I tested it, the more I could smell it! Another 13 is such a good musk scent, a very fresh musk; I think it’s definitely my fave musk fragrance 🙂 also you are absolutely GLOWING ✨ Cant wait to see the musk video 🥰
