Trying out something new! I miss doing covers sometimes, so I figured I'd use them as an opportunity to work on my production and mixing. All the instruments were recorded and mixed in my little home studio, and the vocal is done in one take as you watch it. We're in the future now!
I've always loved this song. Something so simple and true about the lyrics. You can just imagine some poor thespian type trying his best to give their partner something special, unable to buy anything fancy, they write a song instead. Now that I've written that down, I realise I've actually totally done that before, haha. I wonder if I can do it for every birthday, or if it will start getting old...
