Good news-- it's free. The law entitles you to one free copy of your credit report from each of the three nationwide credit reporting companies every 12 months.
Why is it important to check your credit report? It has important information about your financial accounts, how you pay your bills, and if you filed for bankruptcy. You want to make sure everything is accurate, especially before you buy a house or a car or apply for a job.
