Hello guys! Recently Facebook has updated its content ID system, and many creators have started to receive claims that mute their videos. We have made an instruction for you how to restore the sound on your Facebook video.

Maybe you're in a different country? I see no such page as a "video page", there is only the feed and my own profile page. The "video muted" notice doesn't look like yours on my facebook page. Please clarify your instructions with absolute clarity for success. We also get this "We are generating new audio for you. You will be able to take action in a few minutes", this doesn't allow us any changes. Please get real with your subscribers and those who are watching.

I played Mozart K. 570 for a church service and my performance was muted by Facebook as being in copyright. Oddly, my own music (which is in copyright) was not muted! Who is running the show here and what are they trying to prove? It makes no sense to me and it turns all streaming online into an amateurish waste of time.

The latest "Your video is muted in certain countries where Meta does not have music rights" almost sounds suspiciously like if a video contains music of any kind, it gets presumptuously muted automatically, even if there's no real copyright match--because apparently, Meta doesn't have the resources to deal with copyright infringement issues. This is just what they're resorting to now. This will be a real pain for producers and composers attempting to promote their original works on Facebook.

What's your thoughts on this, My friend died recently and I gave them permission to use two of my songs on the memorial video. They did but one of them now muted because of a copyright claim (even though they are both from the same project album). Is it possible for me to view the video and correct this copyright issue or do they need to do it on their end since it's from their post? When I try to correct it on my end I don't see the yellow " part of this video is muted..." What I see when it comes up is a pop-up at the bottom of the screen which doesn't let me click on it. I want to correct it for them so they don't have to go through the steps. But is that even possible for me to do?

My problem is the same but the message from Facebook is a little bit different, it says: "Your video is muted in certain countries where Meta does not have music rights" and when i claim it, there are only 3 buttons: "Post Muted, Restore Audio, Delete Video". I already clicked on the Restore Audio but it doesn't work .... :(

Your video is still earning ad revenue, but the ad revenue won't be included in your earnings until the video has been reviewed by the rights holder. No action is needed from you at this time. You can expect a resolution within 17 days.

Facebook has recently changed its content id system and rules, so this is happening to many people all over the world. This change affects some countries only. The sound in your video remains for most countries, even though you see this message under your video. There are not many countries in the world where Facebook music does not work. The video should be fine. However I would suggest to add the track directly from the platform's music library and mute it afterwards if needed. This may help to resolve this issue.

how does this apply to gaming? i got this today after a live stream on my timeline but what i dont undertstand is i dont use my voice,i dont use webcam,and i dont play music at all because i just dont like using them at all regardless of game name,the only sounds in it is the game itself and if the game has music in it i always turn it off cuz i dont like it in the game so whats causing this

This doesn't work for me unfortunately. Facebook is still muting all of my videos and i never get the option to dispute it when i click into the video noitification. I don't know if it's because all my videos are live streams and not uploads.

I got 3 videos muted in certain countries where meta does not have music rights. The background music I used for my videos were all from the youtube audio library. I tried to restore the audio and it worked but my only concern is that will it affect my application for monetization? I'm just starting my own page. Will I get disapproved for the monetization program?

I have a ton of these claims. Unfortunately when I get to the dispute page, the dispute option is greyed out and can't be selected. It's really ridiculous that they are preventing me from promoting my own music as a music producer. People are going to my group page and having the experience of none of my music playing and there's no option for me to dispute or fix it. That eventually is going to be a lawsuit.

Unable to do anything mentioned in this video. Upon doing step one, my video details state "We are generating new audio for you. You will be able to take action in a few minutes." However, this has said this for 3 days now... Running an ad now for 4 days with the audio supposedly muted without being notified of this action seems criminal (since they're still charging me for a blank video) and there's zero way to get to any step to allow us to do anything.

If you've encountered any copyright issues on the platform you can dispute the claims via their support providing info about our no copyright usage policies (link to the video of the track that you have used, screenshots of the description, etc.) Also try adding the music from the FB's sound library and then mute it. It may help to resolve the issue faster.

@@Infraction Like many, my audio I am using is my audio. It's a piano cover (far from verbatim of the actual). I am dealing with their support now and they are tap dancing. The button "Restore audio" is greyed out for me after a week and after their support from Meta started my dispute yesterday, facebook sent me a link to file a dispute. I attached an image showing the button greyed out along with my dispute which took several minutes to type up. They now sent me a new link to do it all over again and requested I attach an image showing the greyed out button issue, even though I ALREADY DID initially. Like I said, they're tap dancing and not paying attention. I'll be sure to update as I see what they'll do, but using FB's sound library isn't an option since the sole purpose one would upload their cover (attempt of a song, or interpretation of ones song) is to have our rendition heard.

any clue on how to fix it on a personal page? i made a long edited video for my friends that obviously i would not or want to monetize but fb muted it due to copyright claims ive since lost the file so i need to redownload it or restore it but so far it remains muted need help.

My video is stuck on generating new audio for it, and the options to dispute are faded out and unusable. I used all royalty free music and content. This is so frustrating, is there anything I can do if Facebook isn't letting me dispute it?

i am very much the same, and mostly i never hear back for the issues ive reported to them, yet they will reply on my back up accs or if i reply to support inbox or decision.. it seems each fb acc has different features from one another and i think some profiles are badly glitched such as the backup page i made last year that had no invite friend and other missing features and buttons that shouldve been there... facebook is broken lol

This option is not available on Facebook anymore. All you get now is an option to restore audio. Which does nothing. No form to complete and past the license of the music that's being used. No way to contact support on this from Facebook that I could find. I have now reframed from posting my videos on Facebook instead I'm adding the link to my videos from RU-vid which I'm able to provide the license to them.

The option to dispute and restore audio is grayed out. It say's "We are generating new audio for you. You will be able to take action in a few minutes." It's crazy when they said they removed audio from 34 minutes and 50 seconds of my video, when my video is only 7 minutes long! The music track was in the Creative Commons domain and is free to reuse with no attributions required. I downloaded it from RU-vid Audio Library. Why is Facebook claiming it? Is there another way to restore the audio?

We are sorry that you have such issues with Facebook... Try contacting their support directly to find a solution. Also provide them the link to our video that proves that our music is no copyright and that you have our permission to use it.

@@Infraction I already did contact Facebook support and did provide the link to my video. But they insist my use of a Creative Commons music content violates Copyright where Meta does not have jurisdiction. Facebook support keeps on suggesting that I open the dispute form by clicking "restore audio" which is grayed out as I mentioned. I don't think my request was reviewed by human, but rather a bot made the automated reply. I also contacted the publishing label of the music track and inform them about the Facebook false Copyright claim and requested them if they could mediate as the legal Copyright owner to resolve this issue with Facebook Copyright. I'm just waiting for a reply from Nothing Hill Music Publishing.
