Hi, I know that RU-vid does closed captions, but they’re not always grammatically correct. Would you like me to do yours? I’m not a scammer. I know this request looks bizarre, but I do my own and I don’t mind doing yours. Even the deaf should get your advice. I used to watch you on channel makers and I thought it was your channel. I really love what you do and I put your advice into my channel. You say everything in a way that is easy to understand because you also demonstrate it which is easy for me to do as a person who has a communication and learning disorder, it makes it easier to learn from someone like you. I’m so glad that you made your own channel. Keep up the good work.

You deserve to get monetized. Congrats! I follow both you and Channel Makers because your content is extremely useful. My channel is new, but I firmly believe that there is a big audience out there for my channel. Beluga creates tangentially similar content to mine and they have a big audience. It’s just a matter of time for my channel to explode.

Something I've tried to live by: "Direction is more important than position." If you are at the bottom, as long as you are progressing, then you are going to get there. If you are at the top, if you aren't growing, you'll soon be dropping off. So direction is more important than position.

I was going to say "how do I begin here" but I think it is safe for me to say here that: 1) I am crying my eyes out! 2) This has been the most emotionally impactful content creation video I have seen in my journey since October 2022. 3) Because it has had this emotional impact on me, it proves to me that, whatever the content might be, it IS a VERY emotional journey. 4) That I am in excellent, like minded, company. 5) That I need to get out of my own way for 5 minutes and instead of dancing like no one is watching, I need to let my dreams be free long enough to visualise the possibilities. 6) This video is going to stay with me for a VERY long time and will probably govern how I apply myself from this point on. 7) I thank you for that. I am now going to watch this video again. Cry a little more and dare to dream. Much love to you Nate xxx

Hey Nate - I just want to say a huge huge thank you. Words can't describe how you have helped change my life. I started a channel about two years ago and had never done anything RU-vid related before. I needed to learn everything from scripting, filming, editing, publishing and I learned most of that from you. But most of all I learned how to do what you talk about in this video - truly believe that my audience exists and that I can be successful. Lo and behold I'm being hired for my absolute dream job running digital video for one of the largest soccer media companies in the US. I did the work, but you were there most of the way to help me onwards. I know it's not "you vs Channel Makers" and I had even been a part of Project 24 specifically because of you, but even today both of your thumbnails were next to each other on my home page... guess which one I clicked on first. Thank you Nate, good luck on your new project. I'll be watching!

(Sorry this is long but I'm kind of chocked up ;-) Gee, Nate what a fantastic way to end this video. That scene you shared (thank you) is exactly what we're all feeling for you, too. You see, I think that you're really getting to us here because so many YT businesses have a person at the core who broke away from a scene that wasn't truly fulfilling them (in our family, it was my husband and myself). I guess your viewers are kind of living vicariously through you, in a sense. You're on the "hero's journey" and we want to be on it with you. We've all had that point in our lives, too, where we had to face our boss and say, 'guess what? I'm leaving. Yeah, I really mean it.' And we know they'll replace us, but in that moment, it is a huge heroic moment in our personal lives. Or we finally dump that career that kept us bound to sleepless nights, sleeping pills, ulcers, or depression, and said, okay, I'm Cortez burning the bridges. I'm going forward, no matter what. You don't know how many breakfasts here at my place you've been the subject of conversation. My husband doesn't yet follow you online but he knows your name. I say "Nate" and he knows exactly who you are and all about what you are doing, because I've been telling him your story. I think your family must be pretty supportive to you. Same here in mine. I am honestly watching and wishing you so much success and (however you want to call it) - that universal love that one attracts when they put that same feeling out to others in the universe, and attracts it back. It's like a pendulum - when you put out honesty, kindness, and authenticity to others, they give it back to you. I think that is what is happening here. I will share your inspirational video with my husband this week. God bless you, Nate. Your friend Robin Bird.

Meanwhile, Nate, if you’re reading this, you didn’t even skip a beat. 🦾🔥 It’s also extremely apparent, that Nate, you know all this stuff like the back of your hand. Nate, these suggestions are brilliant. On the surface they’re simple, but their impact is profound. True success begins within each of us, beginning with our mindset. What we do as creators is personal. Yes, personal to us but most importantly personal to our viewers. As I create, I literally envision a single viewer and how my content provides value to them. Then I expand that vision with a mental image of hundreds of thousands of like-minded people… viewers. Kind of like a globe with pins all over the map… thinking globally. Thanks for the great advice you provide and best of luck with your new endeavor.

Hi! I’m 50 plus, too, and my channel is growing very slowly but steadily. I popped on your channel looking for basic, user friendly, common tech issues, especially for us older folk, like how to use your iPhone calendar, how to use iPhone Notes, how to set phone reminders, how to send group texts, how to make a Zoom call, how to face the window/light when on camera and not sit with your back against the light, etc.😆 When exploring most of your video titles, I didn’t even know what these things were. They were so far over my head and unrelateable. Many of us older folk, unlike you, are way behind the tech ball and were not raised in the tech era, so we struggle! I believe your channel has great merit, but it seems to be marketed to the 2% of the 50 plus population who knows what you’re speaking of. If you modified your content to actually help the mature adult with simple, detailed, concise answers to everyday tech issues, I feel that you would get more traction. This is just my opinion, so please take what you like and discard the rest. All the best!🌻

Nate there are so many reasons why I personally come back and watch your videos and yes, absolutely thrilled to be at the beginning of this new channels birth so I'll never miss a video now. I'm sure everyone feels the same. We're really enjoying the return of the Nate and it's even better to have you in your own channel, in your own element. This suits you and thank you for your positivity and advice about how to approach audience. Love that. I'm going to get printing!!

I think watching you go through this transition has shown me that above anything else, RU-vid is about connection, and about people. Because we as an audience are here for YOU because we have grown to trust you and love you through a screen. But then i watch you say that you are here for US and it’s just really cool. People spend so much time trying to game the algorithm but it’s just about being yourself and being helpful for your audience, which is what you’ve said ALL along. 😊

Nate. First of all, I am super happy for you. I found channel makers around six months ago and I honestly thought it was only you on that channel. You are a huge inspiration and I am so happy that you now get to create this completely on your own terms on your own channel. And that reaction, keep those coming. They make this channel you, not another unrelatable channel. 👍🏻

Nate, everything you've said here is absolutely true and I now know it from my own experience. Thank you for all your inspirational advice. I'm working my way through all the vids on this new channel and your approach is so inspiring. The Teddy Roosevelt quote you presented on a more recent video really drove it home for me. (I'm a historian and I had heard the quote before, truncated, but thank you so much for reading the whole thing in context--it really makes a difference). I love your new channel and I'll be with you all the way!

I feel like this was my therapy session in regards to you tube. You're the you tube growth therapy guy. 😅 (Ed from Film Booth said everyone needs a phrase for what they want to be known for. I'm still thinking of mine.) This was just what I needed as I've been down the last couple weeks in this thing. I need to work on my mental self talk like crazy. But after watching myself in my videos I actually like myself and I laugh every time! Who would've known by the way I talk to myself. (Yes, outloud too 😂) Thanks Nate, I'm going to tune out again as I'm on vacation.

I do believe my audience is out there, and I think early mistakes have harmed the channel by not getting the videos in front of the right audience. It does feel like that is changing slowly. Life got in the way too for a while with my parents dementia, part of the reason I film what I do, to bring Britain and its history nearer to those who cant get out there for themselves. I have tried to implement changes I have learned from you in the past, and it seems to be working. Great advice, as always

Thank you so much! I’ve been working on starting up a channel little by little getting things together. I don’t know why this popped up on my feed but I already know it’s the universe telling me to let’s go. This video just made it clear and connected the dots for me. I always wondered about some people and how comfortable they are going live by themselves and basically having no one around but yet they talk as if they know everyone. It’s the mindset that you speak of in this video that has made it clear on how I have to be when I start my channel. Again thank you so much!

So I took this thought process and applied it to my latest video I recorded it. I'm fixing to start editing it now. But it was a day I was supposed to do one thing, it didn't work out but turned out to be a much more awesome day anyway. I decided "this is real life, this is the exact community I set out to meet, I should capture this moment and share how the day changed". I knew my core audience (which is small) would appreciate it. But I tried to be very confident as if I had 1M subscribers. Even if this video flops, it will be one of my favorite videos that I will always cherish simply because it is so real.
