You just didn’t understand their point. Do you think that there is medication or therapy that can make a pedophile a non pedo? If so, why isn’t it mainstream? There is no such thing, just like gay conversion therapy doesn’t work, it doesn’t at the moment seem to be possible to make someone NOT a pedophile. Now to be clear, an individual who ACTS on these emotions, has no excuse. They have to be jailed because regardless of their mind state it is still a crime. Just like we give tons of bypasses for the mentally ill/disabled we wouldn’t let them get away with murder just because they have a special situation. All of that being said, the scholars point was that having main stream media demonize people who are having these thoughts is bad, because we would rather them walk into a hospital and say “I have been having pedophilloic thoughts and I do not want to harm a child” or something like that.
