"Beardsley, Beardsley, Beardsley!" "Watch out mom you'll might get a black eye." LOL that part is funny when the mother (Lucille Ball) tries to tell the teacher to let him sign Beardsley but dose not let him and keeps saying bagging her to let him sign Beardsley and how her son tell her not to go to far or she'll end up like him with a black eye oh how funny her face looked when he said that.
The child wasn't in the right, and neither was his mother. And she shouldn't have argued with the 'sister' about it. She only did it because of the kid, because the family took legal steps for the name change.
+Carolyn Argabright Both Phillip and Helen were in the right. The sister - and the school - were in the wrong. Just because a school has a rule doesn't mean the rule is right.
That's why they have rules, if parents don't like it, then they should work to have it changed, not make exceptions for one child over the others who has to comply with them. This is a parochial school, so maybe it would have been the wisest thing for Philip's mother to pull him out of it, and send him to a public school.
Carolyn Argabright First of all, that doesn't change the fact that it was the school that was in the wrong. Second, it's not always feasible to just wait for a rule to be changed. That can take months, years, or decades. Besides, how do you think rules get changed in the first place? By people fighting them. And, minor nitpick: she wasn't asking for an exception - she never said that _only_ Phillip should be allowed to use a different name.
Ein herrlicher Film! Leider gibt's nicht auf Deutsch, aber wir haben ihn auf DVD und gleich mehrmals hintereinander geguckt! Total toll und süß der Film! Das war damals noch Qualität!
Tammi w new ones not even remotely close to the original. The original was based off the real Beardsley family. The new one borrowed a couple of familiar things from the original. That's all! Yours mine and ours is what gave us the Brady Bunch. Two separate families blending together. This new one of what appears to be adopted children from different backgrounds and ethnicities. Unfortunately the movie didn't do as well as the original. Check Rotten Tomatoes.
