Outdated mechanics

I love how everyone is corrected this guy but can't cite a more recent video with proper mechanics.

@@azteacher26 I think you’ll find almost any recent analysis of throwing will identify better mechanics and debunk this old school teaching method which was probably originated by reviewing still frames without a reference to timing or sequencing... check out training centers like driveline, tread Athletics, Tx baseball ranch, etc. just make sure you are looking at recent info as even the best at their craft evolve in what and how they teach as better information becomes available.

@@sec1720 There is some good stuff here, like balance but once you get a critical part wrong, its all wasted. He is basically teaching these kids the break of the hands happens right at the toe opening on the stride which is a million times wrong. (When he was showing the stride foot opening they both were still closed, lol) The break of the hands happens at the start of the stride hence why the "back" part is wrong. I just cant past the down back and up part. There is no back. Your hands break at the start of the stride, ball path down, and magically at the stride foot landing where is there to go other than back up? Get the point? Try it, its obvious. Can u throw strikes and get kids out with this? Sure, a strike is a strike, but kids learn by there eyes more than there ears and its just taking so much away from there power and really putting too much strain on there arm. It promotes using more arm than body. Some of the best pitchers around seem like they arent throwing 100% and thats because its all in there lower body and core and the arm is just the part of the body holding the ball and going along for the ride.
