Coach D I love these videos. I’m on my 2nd year coaching flag and your videos helped me a great deal. Last year we won in playoffs and this year we are 6-0 so far. Keep this up as you are making me look better than I actually am lol

Thanks for clarifying that single back fake handoff and fake reverse. We had been having the QB fake to both running backs, but it was tough when the other team blitzed. This variation will work better! BTW, we find the RB doing the fake reverse is always open.

@@CoachD We are going to run it both ways. In our Spring league, the QB can run when blitzed and a lot of teams don't blitz for that reason (Gridiron rules). Thus, the two QB fakes are ok, but the RB faking to the wingback is a nice variation, especially against the one team that always rushes the QB!

This is great stuff, Coach. Question (I'm a first time coach of 9-11 year olds): our league allows rushing the QB so it's hard to get these plays done because the whole offense runs downfield and the QB is unprotected. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I do something very similar but we go by memory. We started game 1 with 5 plays. Game 2 with 6 plays. Now game 3 with 7. We can run hurry up. Or get super scummy and huddle. I tell them the play with away "2" and i wait a few seconds until i see someone on the defense talking or getting out of position and we rush to the ball and snap it real quick. We call our 1 "1" or "11" Our 2 play "2" or "22" and so on. Just so the defense doesnt start picking up on the plays. I based our offense off something i watched the 49ers do under shanahan. On every play he had a jet sweep motion. It made NFLers have to wait a step or two longer just to see who really had the ball. SO i figured if it could fool NFLers then 3rd-5th graders should be even easier to film. BUT the most important part of every play, is the BLOCKING. I've gone undefeated the last 4 years because we are always the best blockers and the toughest team. We run a version of the oklahoma drill and the kids love it. They get so fired up. It really does teach them how to use their power in their legs to block. We dont need to play dirty like some teams. Just hands on the chest and DRIVE. We have a blitzer in our league too so we have to make that blitzer think twice about coming in so hot. You can blitz, but we got a kid back there in the backfield that will be the secret service for our QB LOL. No hands on him.

Wow, Janoy. Thx for sharing all this. I’m glad you’ve found something that works well for you. I like the jet sweep motion concept - we use something similar right now w some of our plays and it’s always solid. I’m a fan of wristbands so I can open it up a bit more, but building off only a few foundations, concepts, etc, is a def the way to go to keep it simple and effective. I also like how you read the defense, then go after a somewhat hurry-up variation of your offense. Good stuff. 🏈🔥
