Placement and keyword targeting isn't gone. They're not available when you attempt to use them when selecting a particular campaign goal and conversions. However, they are still available when you don't select a goal for your campaign.

SOLID video. Well done. I am used to scaling Facebook ads and thinking ad sets (audiences) and then ads. Sort of like ad groups and ads in Google. Question: how do you go about setting up ad groups and targeting for a campaign? Do you stack the multiple interests in one ad group? Break it up?

We typically do a one audience/targeting type within one ad group inside one campaign. And we test other targeting/audience types into their own campaigns. That way there's more control, after all simplicity is key for scaling and optimizing!

I had no idea this change happened. I just noticed for the past month my traffic dropped off a cliff (and sales went down pretty significantly too) and was wondering what the heck had happened. My product is pretty niche and I don't have a lot of faith that Google will be able to better target customers than I can. Also annoying that if they think they have such great AI, that they couldn't just use an AI to transition all my existing ads from keyboards and placements to whatever they want to use instead.

Hey, thank you! The daily budget is very relative. You would first need to determine how much testing budget you're willing to spend on finding winning ads, winning audiences (that get you conversions). And from there, measure your acquisition costs.In terms of your specific roofing niche, we're not familiar with a benchmark, but perhaps researching what other advertisers are doing inside Google search can give you a benchmark to aim for or at least come close to.

I specifically run ads only for getting views and engagement for my Music Video campaigns.. However, the retention due to ads are terrible! Sometimes less than 30 seconds.. But one of my friends who is a performance marketing expert, he runs ads on my music videos and surprisingly by his ads my retentions are usually 50% or more than 60% , how is that possible?

Bit confused, you say testing 25 ish campaign variations. Are you referring to 1 campaign with 25 ad groups? Or 25 campaigns with 1 ad group each? How should we split up campaigns? This is a bit unclear

Hey there! If you're selecting the Event Snipped to fire on page load, this one needs to be added specifically to the 'Thank you page' you're using for this conversion to fire. The gtag.js needs to be added. Hi Linx Digital, I'm a musician and I just watched your Master's Class. I currently trying to run ads for a show I have coming up in 3 weeks. I was provided with a ticket link from the venue how do I set up conversion tracking if I don't have full access to the original domain and I only have access to the ticket link for purchase?

If you don't have access to adding GTM scripts to this funnel, one way you could track is to create a quick landing page that's gated, before they click the link to purchase the ticket (it could lower conversion rate) but you can then add conversion tracking to this page if it's yours. If these people buy, then you can later verify with the venue how many people bought and who and cross reference with those that came from your campaign.

There's no way around it. RU-vid has made it where you'll need to use up the inventory they have. You can limit the times that is shows up on the inventory by adjusting your device bidding and limiting to just mobile and having a 9:16 YT shorts format.

Just so everyone knows. I tried for the first time for my other account....youtube ads. If you think they advertise all day every day the video you spent money on to advertise...you're wrong. It looks like they run your ad for about an hour everyday if even an hour. You will see the spike in views for about an hour in your analytics. So it is like most shorts I upload. About one hour and then the short is shut off. Plus it seems that views go down on all other videos, especially new videos you upload while you have the ad on another. It seems they almost completely ignore any new uploads during your ad time frame. From my experience anyway.

That is correct! As of August 2023, they will be slowly but surely deprecated from the Google Ads dashboard's Audience Segments.
