This takes me back. I had a lot of fun with the dsi when I was younger. Taking pictures with the awful camera and over-editing them, recording random sounds and putting them through the filters, going to the "dsi RU-vid" sites that just had gifs, making really simple flipnotes, and playing with all the dsiware games. Good times
Stanley Small Looking back at my flipnotes from last year, they were garbage, like so bad it's good. The ones I have for this year and in last December, I have improved!
@@itsmemnmxd3701 I remember that I used to constantly check the free section to see if anything new was added, and when that showed up I was ecstatic. Sorry that happened to you
I literally did EVERYTHING you did when I was younger too. Even down to the moving on the ground backwards, recording YTPs, and taking a random picture of someone and messing with it 2000 times on the video thingy
I have a 2ds and it was preused. There was one sound that had me cracking up for hours... it was 2 kids, one was singing the first 12 lyrics to I believe I can fly then after I just heard one go up close to the mic and go “F*ck, F*ck, F*ck, F*ck, F*ck, F*ck” (to twinkle twinkle little star)
Btw if you didn't know, the reason why sometimes in the DSi sound the bubbles are square or spiked, it's because the sounds were edited. Here's how it works. if you change the speed or pitch the bubble becomes from a circle to a square bubble. If you were to add filters the bubble were to change from a circle to a spiked box. The thing works for the 3DS/2DS. Reply if this helped!
I remember when I was like in 2nd or 3rd grade and everyone would bring their DSi on the bus and we used my game of Mario Kart DS and everyone would just race using DS Download Play and I was the coolest kid This is how life was meant to be
you messing around on the sound software reminds me of how i would scream into the 3ds's mic for hours because i thought it was the funniest shit. theres literally one of me squealing and then laughing at a bird.
8:30 oh my god i used to do that all the time as a kid on my 3ds, I just played audio backwards and recorded myself doing things in reverse, that was the best.
SpringyStudios 44 I have an perfectly fine ds lite Which I use for Gameboy advance games I have a perfectly fine gbasp which I lost the charging cable for and never use What is wrong with me
I remember when I would have arguments with my mom when I was around four or five, I would run upstairs, get my DS and then play the slideshow music ( 6:16 ) while holding my school bag full of random stuff while walking out the door and pretending I was running away and then she would be like “oh ok then” and she’d let me leave and shut the door, only to find me two minutes later crying outside the door begging to come back in. Ahhhhhh, memories...
@@Zealbyte it....was a cartridge. Unlike modern systems, you didn’t need to install a game when you put the cartridge in. Plus, installing CFW on DSi is pretty easy.
@@aminsicle Internet on the ds lite was used via a cartridge but the ds I had a browser and I’m not sure if it came with the ds stock but you can’t download stuff from the eshop anymore
my cousin still has one of those and I remember when we were like 7 we would do a bunch of cartoon impressions and literally just scream into the mic. We also have many pictures of random people who’s faces we distorted. The sad thing is she still carries it around and uses it....
This power is too great, you've gone beyond life and death, good and evil, right and wrong, this path you've put yourself on is the path to ruin. I warn you not for your safety, but for the safety of your loved ones
9:49 OH MY FUCKING GOD THIS GAME USED TO BE MY LIFE. I remember I always wanted to know what stage was after the purple stage, but it was just infinitely purple from then on out :((( *disappointment intensifies*
When Flipnote Studio was a new thing my brother was obsessed with it almost as much as he was obsessed with Family Guy. (It was his first "adult cartoon." He has taste now.) I remembered going down stairs one day and he was screaming "TOOL!" at his DSi over and over again. Apparently he was trying to copy something from Family Guy but it was too long so he had to do the voices himself, but the DSi would cut right at the end and he was getting frustrated. (I think it was a cut away gag with "Timmy o' Tool" or whatever?) He was able to say it all fast enough but in the animation it's just him saying the lines as fast as possible and then yelling "TOOL!" so loud and close to the DSi that you couldn't understand what he said. He was satisfied with it though.
I remember the only thing I used my ds for was: -taking photos (I used it for a photography course I was taking once, it was magic) -I edited those photos, I would put hearts, sparkles, etc... Then show them to my family as a sing of love and appreciation -the music thingy, I used it without knowing what it was for. I would sometimes have nightmares about it cuz I got scared of the sounds -flipnote, you know, I would draw stupid things, I didn't know how to animate anything, so I would just watch the premade animations -And play some Barbie pet games, those were the ones that my mom bought me, and even tho I don't like Barbie anymore, I would play them again for about 10-15 mins Those were the good times
Hey Peter! I know I'm two years late but I just thought it would be worth mentioning that if you have downloaded DSiWare in the past and then deleted it, you can go to the DSi Shop, tap Start Shopping, then tap Settings, after that tap Titles You've Downloaded and then you can redownload your DSiWare free of charge
5:58 very late comment, but I've watched this video many times and I just now realized this. i either know him, or he looks IDENTICAL to the guy I know. there's a man who works at my school. i've basically seen him my whole life because he works at the elementary and the highschool. i don't know exactly what he does, but he works on computers and programs computers so you don't go onto a website to play games on the computers. again, i'm not sure if it is actually him, but it looks so close to his face.
I used to search for porn pictures in google with my dsi. You could try to open them in full screen but some of them had way more quality than the DS and it wouldn’t allow you to open it
@exoaid does osu i admit im weird because I basically just said I watched porn on the ds how is that not admiring im weird also yes everyone is a little weird
Funny enough I had the original DS, and I actually had multiple DSes because I broke so many and then got the 3DS, 3DS XL, and the *New* 3DS XL but I never got the DSi.
@@TheSweetnik80 no I just had a brilliant allowance Edit: Also apparently I had 3 DSes and all were borrowed from my older sisters' rich friends. Other ones were bought from Christmas/presents or allowance.
Hey man, I got a DSI, but with a webbrowser... So I tried RU-vid, and after a lot of tries a video was running, well, the video was not being displayed, but I could hear the sound! If you still want to try to get RU-vid, you can get a R4 card for really cheap online, flash a game menu on it, and add the browser. I heard there was a RU-vid "game" made for DSI, so maybe you can put that on that R4 as well... I hoped you tried it a bit more... Because this information is all over the internet ;)
Fun fact: A friend of mine actually tried to watch Undertail (undertale hentai) on the DSI browser. E621.net couldn't load, so thanks jesus, zeus, anubis, athenea and every single god out there
I remember many of the original DSi systems had an issue with the L and R buttons. Mine had the same issue after a few months of owning it and it was messing up my Mario Kart DS gaming so I sent it to Nintendo and they fixed it.
You might be able to acces the browser by going to the shop, go into settings and click titles you've downloaded. If at any time you previously downloaded the app but deleted it, you can redownload it despite the fact the dsi shop has closed
Man I got huge nostalgia from the flipnote part. Hit me so hard. Spent many hours with that thing and was my first real online community experience. Before RU-vid, Reddit, Discord. Flipnote was my internet home
pro tip you can reinstall game by going to the dsi shop click on start shoping click on settings click titles you've downloaded and then you can reinstall your deleated games
