Did this get sorted for you, yet? The last 2 days my RPM has been plummeting again. No notice yet, but I'm definitely having some PTSD from it. I'm hoping yours has been fixed again.
It truly is. I've been building a channel the right way for almost 3 years. And, it's going well and I have a great community. But, there's no way I can count on RU-vid. It's not reliable for me and there's ZERO creator support. @@pinoydueloph
I’m sorry you’re being affected as well. Similar drops and recovery here. Mine started a year ago. I didn’t see the invalid traffic banner at first for the recent drop, but then it came and revenue dropped more severely days later. I did see ads on your video. Before the video (skippable) and a short video ad within the content that I couldn’t skip.
Thanks for your feedback, Michael. I'm sorry we are both going through this together. You've had an even longer go of it with no answers. Let's hope we get some movement in the right direction soon.
Hello Tasia, fellow tech creator here... got hit by invalid traffic Aug 2024, 90% of my revenue went down the hill. Like your positive approach, I did disable video embedding, will test if that work... any updates in 2024 on that topic?
It happened to me twice in 2023 for around two weeks each time. Now it's happened again. This is occurring every 3 months at this point, and it is shocking. The amount of revenue lost is just shocking.
Girl, I am right there with you. Mine is doing very similar things. I think once you're hit, this is just going to keep happening - up and down like this. I was up for 1 month literally to the day then nose dived again on Feb 9th and still haven't recovered. I've lost so much revenue as well. I'm so sorry this is still happening to you too. We are working away behind the scenes still pushing - not going to give up on getting real answers.
@@TasiaCustode Oh my Gosh, I am so sorry to hear that. It's so disheartening after working so hard to grow. I made less in 2023 than I did in 2022 and my views were way higher. Just insane. I hope you'll recover from this too, and until then, we just keep fighting the fight. I agree with you about having to branch out, create courses, etc. It's too risky otherwise. Thanks for creating these videos about the issue. It helps us creators see we're not alone!
UGH I'm so sorry to hear this. Mine just keeps going up then down again. It's brutal. All this hard work for nothing. We still can't get answers. Make sure you add yourself to the list.
Hi Tasia, So sorry you are going through this all again. It's clear and has been for ages that RU-vid/Google cares about one thing and one thing only, money. As viewers we have been subjected to more and more adds as time has gone on without any perceivable benefit to the creators who are the backbone of youtube along with the viewers. I can't do anything but wish you the best. RU-vid without your channel would certainly be a duller place Tasia.
I am a little RU-vidR from Hong Kong, and I have also been troubled by the INVAILD TRAFFIC problem for more than a year. I turned on second Channel and the result was the same.
I feel the pain. to the point I'm thinking why create anymore content. not getting paid on 85% to 89% of my views just to let you know , their was only one ad played at the end of your video. no midrolls or nothing
Two adds played, one for Tiktok, other not sure. One at the beggining & one at end. YT could easily go the way of MySpace if it's thought to be stealing money from its creators. They can flag a video for all sorts of things but not for invalid traffic? Seems a little suspect. As you said, you can either take it or move on. I could see creators getting so miffed they create a new app via Bing. Fear is the only thing that will force YT to fix this. Fear of Google, losing money.
I got the email today but mine says disabled due to invalid traffic. Like all monetization completely stopped. I just got monetized 10 days ago. Now I can’t even log into Google Adsense without the 403 error message. I submitted an appeal. Honestly don’t know why this happened.
Hello Tasia. I'm sorry this is happening to you - again I suppose, because only low CPM ads were played on your video (dog food, shampoos, etc., but no high CPM stuff like tech or software). Our channel has been hit for the 2nd time, too. I'm trying to join a MCN, as a measure of last resort, and ask them to fix this issue somehow for me. if it works, you will be the 1st one to know, although I have little hope it is going to work.
From what I read is it's basically a way for youtube to punish people who go and get botters to bot there videos for more money. It could come from nowhere if you ticked someone with money off that went and paid someone to botnyour videos to get you introuble.
I got hit for 4 of my channels. losing 10k-15k a month because of this. crazy.. and RU-vid is doing nothing with this.. and for people reading this it started in November 2022. and they still didnt solve this.
Oh dear God. I'm so sorry. This is a major known issue and we still sit here and wait for real answers and real change. It's hard to image how we can even continue making content on this platform.
@@TasiaCustode yeah I am taking a complete break from social media and youtube.. will think to focus on something where I have my heart and my passion and where my intuition is going to guide me.. I am going to even completely ignore analytics and I let life to take care of me now. good luck to you
RU-vid is a mess. Not the content, the platform itself. Comments that disappear or don't appear, missing reply notifications, progress bars often not synced, often not even on the same device. Sometimes the feed is 50% full of videos I've already seen. Advertising despite premium subscription and so on. I hope they get the platform under control or I hope it disappears from the scene due to incompetence.
Happening with me again. It happened on 2022 and now again in 2024. In 2022 it lasted of 3 months. Let's see how long it's going to stay this time. I don't see any invalid traffic notification on youtube studio
The ads are playing regardless what they say about them limiting ads. Remember, they even play ads on non monetized channels. I've reached out creator support at least 10x so far and they all said the same. It's true nothing can be done and they'll just indirectly say it's your fault but can't tell what's causing it. I guess best to do now is hope and wait
Lol. I have been doing RU-vid for multiple years, working on different channels. I had a channel finally start to blow up this last month, my revenue was cranking...and tonight, I got the banner. I'm just shaking my head.
Yup, This is basically Aug all over again. Just confirmed w/ "support" that I've got IVT as well. No banner. Everything else lines up exactly as you said. Happy Holidays! (but seriously, happy holidays!)
More validation. I saw a second dip in my revenue that dropped to almost the levels I had the first time. However with no banner this time around so I was wondering what might be going on. The joys of being a RU-vid creator.
@@TasiaCustode When you are the bigest player in the game you can do what you want. I started cross posting to other platforms after I was first hit with the "bug". Sadly they do not have the views or revenue you can make from RU-vid.
Thank you for making this video. I've had the same issue and in the same time period. Income went way down from end of July to end of September and now it's going back down starting December 15th. I'll add myself to the PNUK list.
I'm so sorry you're going through the same thing. It's beyond frustrating. Reach out to PNUK on X and they can add you to the list of affected creators.
Sorry to hear this. Just fyi, I installed AdBlock from the Chrome store months ago. I am subscribed and watch all of your videos. I'm sorry but I don't see any ads on your channel. Now I feel like a jerk 😪
I’m being affected and didn’t do anything different from my other videos. Just slow steady growth. Then bam 💥 invalid traffic. What? I went to Creator ‘Support’ thinking they were going to help. They talk in circles and supply useless links without any details. That was frustrating. I also noticed they won’t tell you exactly what you did. It’s cloaked as ‘invalid traffic.’ I did nothing wrong. RU-vid owes me money. They stole from me. I work hard on my videos. I’m pissed. Not cool.
I LOVE YOUUU! I’m mad that I’m just seeing this. Funny enough, just before you asked about the ads on your channel, a Disney+ Taylor Swift ad ran. You can’t make this up! 😅 I’ll be contacting you about some things mentioned 😉
Sincere thanks for the taking the time to make the video and provide your feedback, I've shared it with the teams. I can't even imagine how stressful it must feel! Invalid traffic isn't a bug, it's inauthentic activity. For example, fake clicks on ads intending to defraud the system. Advertisers won't pay for fake clicks, so there's no revenue there for anyone RU-vid has to address invalid traffic to keep the platform working for all of us - creators, advertisers, and viewers. By protecting the system against invalid traffic, advertisers can continue to be confident investing in the platform, which helps all creators monetize The reason you may see it come and go is that the defenses stop when the invalid traffic stops, but can start again if and when it comes back You're right in that there's nothing in RU-vid Studio that deals with invalid traffic, but creators can and should be incredibly vigilant about the types of marketers, sponsors, agencies, etc. we work with, since some services used to boost views can directly cause invalid traffic If you haven't already, please do file a case with Creator Support and I'll make sure the team has eyes on it. Also, please do continue sharing your feedback, it is being seen and heard!
Thank you for replying here and on X, Rene. I urge you to please continue sharing all of this feedback with RU-vid. Most of us have no direct line and we can't get real answers. It gets really insulting to hear the same "response" over and over again. Frustrating does not even being to describe this feeling. As I mentioned to you on X, I do very few sponsored videos & I don’t work with any outside agencies to promote content. I barely promote my own content. The problem is that honest creators get falsely hit time and time again and YT not having our back. YT passes the buck like it’s our responsibility. We have no control over this. RU-vid does. It’s insulting to insinuate it’s the creators responsibility. If I could control traffic, I’d be one of the most powerful tech companies, not RU-vid. Also many of us tanking on the same day and recovering on the same day is suspect. Does YT have a kink in their traffic systems? How are so many of us affected at the same time and recover at the same time? Is the system too sensitive resulting in honest creators getting continuously hit? How can we continue to create on the YT platform? I would love for RU-vid to publicly address this issue. We don't need to know the magic behind the scenes if it shows their hand to competitors. But this constant "it's the creators fault" thing is a horrible way to treat the people that made the platform what it is. Thank you for sharing this with them.
It got me for 6 weeks the last time. So far... fingers crossed...I haven't been hit again. But I just can't possibly go all in on RU-vid like I wish that I could. I'm still doing RU-vid, but I cut way back. And I'm putting a lot of effort into the Amazon Influencer Program. I hope RU-vid addresses this...soon.
Ya I am rethinking my YT strategy and my goal of going full time is no longer. It's not possible. I'm working on a course and other income streams unrelated to RU-vid. Keep me posted on the health of your channel!
Making videos for the Amazon Influencer Program (AIP) has been really, really helpful. I'm retired and do eBay, so I have other streams of income. But the AIP is quickly overtaking them in revenue. Let me know if I can help. And I really do hope your channel gets sorted quickly this time. I wonder is RU-vid has considered the long-term ramifications of completely eroding the confidence in the income? Smaller channels, like ours, who were considering making it a full-time job...just can't. I can't hinge the entire financial empire on the whims of a faulty system. @@TasiaCustode
We went through this invalid traffic thing in June. Our recovery has been interesting. A big drop and 3 gradual months of meager revenue then jumped back up to where we think we should be. So far, so good? I hope they don't go all Scrooge on us during the holidays. Thanks.
@@TasiaCustode It 's the third time this year ! It's hard to make so much effort to respect rules and get hit by this glitch ! There is nothing I can do against that !
Thanks for the informative update on the RU-vid Invalid Traffic Bug! 🐞 It's always reassuring to stay in the loop about platform issues, and your explanation really helps clarify the situation. Kudos to RU-vid for addressing and fixing the bug swiftly.
Tasia - I watched your excellent rant video at about 1:00 pm Dec 21, 2023. Yes, there were corporate ads with your video. Two at the start - I don't remember the names, but I recall one was a major insuramce company. At the end of your video, the ad was for Hyundai's Kona car. This is a horrible situation - a problem happens and reoccurs with no explanation, and there is no way to get this problem fixed/no one at Google.RU-vid taking responsibility for the screw-up (Sorry, I originally posted this on one of your different postings.
Thank you so much for your feedback, I really appreciate it. This whole thing is a terrible way to treat the creators that made the platform what it is.
You make the best Google content on YT. YT should be honouring you instead of doing shitty stuff like this. Really appreciate the work you do and will continue to support you any possible way. Hopefully YT fixes this soon. Thank you for all that you do.
You are the sweetest and you've been truly so beyond supportive to me. I appreciate you so much. This is the nicest comment I've received in a long time, thank you! I, too, hope it's fixed soon. And yes, the irony of the type of content I make is not lost on me!
Tremendous job, Tasia! Thank you for raising your voice for us affected content creators, again. I'm sorry you're going through this. Both my channels were fixed on 12th October, thank God, I was so happy that day. Well, I counted the chicken too soon, because several of my videos started to "experience" this bug again in mid November, including my two best performing videos. Ad impressions + CPM on skippable ads dropped almost to ZERO. Stay strong. 💪We're in this together.
Thank you so much, Dorian! I'm so sorry to hear you've been hit again as well. Here we are again together, eh? We need to get so many eyes on this. It's just a brutal way for a company to do business.
Sorry you are also going through this aswell. Its horremdous.. I've been hit for the third time this year. Starting early Dec and continuing. What date did you get hit again? Is your revenue still down?
I'm sorry you're going through this as well. I got hit at the end of November. Yes, it is still down. I have a feeling once we've been hit, it will just continue like this.
@TasiaCustode thanks. And so sorry. Me too. Feels like we are going to have periods of normalcy and low which will average out. That's the way I'm going to view it now. A 3 month average not a monthly average.... quick question. My earnings are still way down. A month in. Are yours still too (as of 7th Jan 2023)?
I really don't want to, it's just not sustainable for the time I put into them to not get paid again. I'm going to be thinking a lot about strategy over the holidays. Happy holidays to you!
Look, your content is good, useful and upto the mark. You are putting good efforts but still you are not getting good views mainly due to algorithm. The algorithm somehow doesn't show the videos to the correct audience I think you should start with a new channel which will be new for the algorithm. It will definitely help you with a fresh start to gain views.
