RU-vid is changing… RU-vid and Audiences are growing up, we are entering an era where high quality content reigns supreme, rather than overedited “junk food” content controls the algorithm. / seansimmonsfilms
This has been in my "Watch later" for a while. I shouldn't have waited. Your filmmaking skills are already incredible, and the message of this film is so important. Looking forward to seeing more!
This video makes me feel like there's still hope for those who valued the days where personality was more important than the algorithm feeding BS that's taken over youtube.
I think that the biggest problem with RU-vidrs now is their lack of strategy. Like they upload everything straight away, and then they run out of ideas very fast. This business is about constant uploading, but not too many times per week (and also after I upload something, I use a bit of Famester to make that piece of content instantly viral and popular). It's better to upload like once or twice per week, and it also helps to avoid burn out.
You are absolutely right but the people is not the algorithm or the creators, it's the AUDIENCE. What they like is what will influence the creators on how to create their content.
I like your advice! And I completely agree that RU-vid had a real vibe back then, and I think that’s still why people use it, we are all still looking for those little pockets of nostalgia!
What a great video! The footage is beautiful and I'm currently editing a video on the same topic so it was very helpful to watch another small creator pull off the same thing! Keep up the good work!
This is something i struggle with as a new content creator. I keep going backwards in my mind. I want to be myself and what i like to do then i watch videos of similar content creators and i keep wanting to do what they do. To see them get thousands of views and me do a video on that same content which may only get 100 on a good week is hard. I see the value of being yourself though. Because in the end the ones that do subscribe are truly going to be loyal to your channel. It's just a long road and a lot of struggles. Great video and to the point.
I´m happy to hear this observation. I been thinking the same thing as a very small channel trying to be discovered. I don´t want RU-vid to be only Huge channels and click bait. I must admit I was falling for making my content that way but I think I will try to stay true to what´s my way. **editied for spelling mistakes**
It’s nice to hear that the authenticity of RU-vid is not dead yet. I hope this gives a chance of content creators like myself a place to be here on a platform like RU-vid. 👍
Im all for this change since I would love to make some sort of cinematic video essays compared to absolute junk food my youtuber friends tell me to do, I think of it like an art and the perfect story can captivate an audience and inspire them to think outside of the box and do something great
Really really great video. The edits are subtle but Awesome the story is short and sweet and you’re doing exactly what you’re telling everyone to do which is being authentic. 10 out of 10. Got my sub
Wow the pacing and the music choice of your video was so gooood!! Especially your face cam shots, there’s something dynamic so special i love it! Re-watched & subbed !
Incredibly well written, shot, and edited. Impressive how much you packed into a 2 minute video. Looking forward to even bigger projects from you, I know you’re gonna blow up!
You really hit me with the "requirements" to make a vid like 10 second hook, constant flashy edits to keep people's attention, etc., while making a video like that is something I wanna do as part of my current experimentation journey, it's more comfortable to me to just let myself be creative! therefore, being authentic :) AMAZING VIDEO THANKS FOR INSPIRING !!!
hi I am French and on our side also many authentic youtubers are starting to take more and more place. (French example: Feldup , TheGreatReview ) And to have the feeling to say what predestines you not for a statistic but for a human is frankly good. This is why the biggest RU-vidrs in France keep this authenticity and honor even if hundreds of thousands of euros are at stake. And I also watch a lot of American youtube and I think it’s clearly something you miss
- less than 5 minutes - explains what was promised in the title - nice colors and editing without a lot of noise nearly perfect video. I would say the 2 camera angles are unnecessary, but it's a good vid anyway. Thanks!
Damn Sean, straight to it, no BS, great insight! And just absolutely nailed the facts, especially with Sam Sulek, the man has *NO* fancy thumbnails, just a screenshot from his videos, he also uses *NO* video tags or channel tags, just himself, doing his thing, and people can relate, RU-vid clearly favors originality and authenticity for the most part, he also makes a cool $30K+ per month from RU-vid Adsense alone!
Just started my RU-vid journey, and seeing this video made me hopeful as I dont plan to do any crazy edits but more so I just wanna be myself and chat with people who enjoy the content I make and the opinions I provide. Great video man!
This is something I’ve noticed too!!! Lot of small channels with simple thumbnails recommended to me. This was a great video - so short and direct!! I’d love to hear what you think a channel like mine could do to do better in this new age of RU-vid lol :)
Honestly in my opinion, your videos just needs more of a hook for viewers to grab onto whether they be thumbnail or an intro. I love the vibe of the videos though and hope to see your channel improve!
@@SeanSimmonsFilms yo thanks for the reply!! I’ve tried a few different thumbnails. I have some w a quote from the video, others w weird food that was involved in the video, and then the latest episode w just the guest (since that’s what Sean Evans and Amelia Dimoldenberg have done). As for hook I try to incorporate like a funny bit- is that not strong enough? But thanks so much ♥️ subscribed to your channel btw, excited to help you grow as well!
@@jennuinnWe are in very different nieches of content but I know podcasts usually have a cold open of some sort so that’s good. I would say outside of like pure production quality (composition, editing, set, etc.) the best thing you could do is see what thumbnails and titles do well in your nieche and take inspiration and then hopefully your comedic bit at the beginning will hook the audience in after they click.
Love the video! I think "growing" is a more accurate word. People are realising they can make the art that they want, and if it's done well, people will watch it.
Incredibly well put together video. Your editing is great and really supports the great points that were made. I'm all in for a push for authenticity in content!
________________________________________________ Thank you for reading. ________________________________________________
Great video my man❤ love the editing style and cinematography. You might wanna up the volume a bit though your somewhat quiet in the mixing of things. If you edit with premiere, they added an "enhance audio" feature which is honestly so fantastic for dealing with sound of people. You're going places ❤
Natalie Lynn, Life of Riza and Wesley Wang are examples that help this platform grow into a diverse platform where people like MrBeast can live on the same street as Chris Nolan
Bro the cinematic shots and the sound design 😯you really got some editing skills. I don't even care what the video is about but only for your skills i subscribed.❤
