the first amendment only prevents government entities to abridge the right to speech, this however does not apply to private corporations or companies, especially on a private, non governmental platform like youtube

I've been searching for a comment like this, mentioning RU-vid Revanced. As soon as I heard him mention that it wasn't possible I hoped I could find someone pointing out how he's wrong & had to skim cause even when checking video on mobile app to try seeing timed comments, cause they are still not available on desktop, but I guess requirements to show timed comments only option isn't fulfilled.
The thing with this is that, if it's directly injected into the video stream, you can skip it. How? With firefox you can use something called "video overlay" (this is in every browser but you can do something special with firefox), if you get an ad, just activate the video overlay feature and skip the ad by changing the current video's time.
No but the point is that you don't know when the ad ends so you can't seek past it. Currently the adblockers detect when an ad video element pops up and then skips the current time to the video length. But now that they're mixing in ads inside the actual video, it won't work unless you could somehow know how long the ad is every time.

@@cheeseburgermonkey7104 yeah, it basically means that they'll inject ads within the video, so you'll make it like one minute through the video and they'll programmatically edit the video so an ad is in between there, so if you use a video downloader then it will include those ads, you will just have to seek over them with the scrub bar which is tedious but it works.
Yeah I think that it's happenning now since sometimes when I'm using the adblock and I enter a video I just get a black screen with the spinning circle until I disable the adblocker
Blocking ads isn't a bad choice since ads help youtubers make their living i add exception for selected youtubers who I watch for their earnings, ads are not bad completely they just tell what's new in the market. And this too how will RU-vid able to store videos( that increases in future) they need money to buy servers to store video so indirectly watching ads has benefits but this wouldn't go well for some people
i have premium so ads used to be 5 seconds now it’s 2 hour long ads unskippable and ios keyboards suck they always auto correct and put red dots under real words and thinks they are weird
Yep, my Adblocker is done. I've done some fun testing by opening a video post and just letting it do it's own thing. Not touching the skip button. I've had a 10 minuet video turn into a 25 min video! If you don't hit skip, sometimes the AD turns into an infomercial going for like 15 minuets ! Of course we all know 99% of the ads are scams. You don't see Tide laundry soap ads, do you?
I do think this could backfire on RU-vid though, because if they integrate ads into videos people could put a time code where the ads will play in the description and just skip that part of the video. Please let me know if that will work or not.

@@DanielC_YT that's right, but you won't know when in the video file the ads will be, so you can't automatically skip them, you'll have to scrub over them once you notice it start playing keep in mind though that watching a youtube video is basically yt livestreaming the file to you (downloaders basically are bots that play the video all the way then give you that), so it can inject ads just like how twitch has ad breaks in a live stream
@@DanielC_YT yep but some extensions could probably look at how long the ad break is based on the time marker on screen and then skip forward that amount of time, so it's not the end
I noticed that when you use an ad blocker now you get more and longer ads that are not skipable. When I disabled my ad blocker i got 1-2 ads and they were skipable

the issue people keep missing is how youtube's parent company that its been living off of isn't making money anymore, so them getting more violent with ads is more from desperation to keep profits, however scummy they're being with it, y'know, paying for the "ah yes the youtube dislike button idea guy, lets pay him for the removal of dislikes, but we can't have people not watching ads, its like 30% of our profit if everyone watches ads!" that shit annoys the hell out of me that they still have left the dislike to a random person to make an addon for youtube specifically to handle a basic feature because they've been running themselves into the ground and making other people seem like the issue

Ad blockers became popular because they are necessary. They interupt 5 minutes videos frequently. They serve ads on demonetized videos. Do you really expect us to just put up with this? Server side ads... If they don't cut back on some of it, ad blockers will just evolve to bypass those as well. If ad blockers are still necessary, someone is gonna come up with a creative solution and spread the message.
The problem are not ad blockers on RU-vid. The problem is Windows. I had a few months ago lot of problems with ad blockers on RU-vid. RU-vid will not run because of those. Then I decided to install the Linux Distro Tuxedo OS and there I have 5 adblockers installed as extensions in the browser (I use Mullvad browser for RU-vid exclusively) and never had an single problem RU-vid not running because of the ad blockers. On Linux with the Firefox browser RU-vid runs fine with even 5 ad blockers installed in the browser. so it has to do something with phoning home telemetry of Windows and such that YT can even know ad blockers are present. Since Linux (Tuxedo OS) does not phone home telemetry YT seems not to know that even ad blockers are installed. I never saw an ad on Linux with RU-vid and YT runs flawless on Tuxedo OS. So the big spyware is basically Microsoft. I run Tuxedo OS now as dual boot on all of my PC's and find myself 70% of the time booted into Linux. Microsoft is just for gaming for me at this point.
Psst! Hey, you! This is a tip for everyone who uses an adblock, or used an adblock before.. You can use RU-vid with adblock, dw... Just, when the "Adblock is not allowed on RU-vid" shows up, all you have to do is be on a computer/PC, then go to your keyboard and press F 2 times (if you were in full screen mode, if not... then only press F 1 time)
The skip button is smaller now too and the "5" in the 5 second skippable ads doesn't even appear, the "4" fades in and after starting a video with an ad 1 minute 19 seconds in another ad...
I remember when it was only 1 ad before the video started, and that was it. Then, it was an ad before the video, and some ads during the video depending on how long the video was. Now its a 1 or 2 ads before the video and multiple ads during the video, and at least 2 of them, you can't skip and sometimes ads show up shortly after you skipped the previous ads. Sometimes, when you press the skip button instead of going back to the video, it will skip to another ad. Some ads are back to back. And there are ads after the video ends. RU-vid is getting ridiculous with ads nowadays. It can't possibly get worse than it already is, right? Or can it.
Theres already patreon, merch, kofi, superchats etc... Its rare that i see a youtuber whos rellying on ads for money. They already make several thousands on patreon, which would be impossible to get from ads. Creators are not really caring about ad revenue
Well to begin with, YT isn't really stable so you'd have to go out of your way to find a degenerate that actually relies on ad rev from YT. Most RU-vidrs that do said things you described already, appreciate us giving them the time of day at all. What google is doing isn't for the creators, it's for them to pocket extra money.
I do understand why yt is cracking down on ad blockers Is because of revenue and their yt premium, but hey, at least i can watch videos offline or by turning off my phone and stull hearing it
