Can i be honest, i think youtube needs to change it's money policy. Creators should be able to earn money IMMEDIATELY. Like, why do you have to have x-amount subscribers to have superchats? Even if i had like 3 people watching my stream, if i could have superchats, a person could just donate something to my stream.
I agree with you. RU-vid is making money off every channel regardless of how big or small. We should definitely be able to make money immediately in some way.
I have an alternative proposal. RU-vid cannot run ads on videos that aren to monetized. They're profiting from content on channels they're throttling. This should be straight up illegal.
The greatest problem for new and small RU-vidrs is limiting the traffic. You cannot grow if you do not get traffic. There is one SEO technique that beats this, advertisement. Six month campaign and then you'll be established enough to have regular traffic. Then RU-vid will just not notify your subs of your content. RU-vid is not content creator friendly unless you are a picked winner.

@@DestructX TLDR: Invalid Traffic is traffic that is fraudulent or accidental click-throughs. Advertisers want their ads to be seen by real people. Not bots or any other artificial means to boost channel view counts. Advertisers also want people to be there on purpose. Not through some accidently click or via an intrusive advertisement designed to boost traffic. It is a bit more complex, but basically advertisers want to ensure they're getting what they're paying for. Anything that doesn't match that criteria is invalid traffic.
or at least a much lower cap say 100 subscribers and 100 hours watch time - it would at least show the person is invested in the platform without it being so hard
My most viewed video got slapped with the yellow dollar sign. Requested a manual review. It was determined the decision was correct, with the feedback saying “this video may or may not contain content which isn’t suitable for most advertisers.” It had been uploaded for about 20 months at that point and was driving about 80% of the revenue my channel was generating. The biggest frustration for me so far on this journey. But the show goes on!
this happened to my other channel and I was pissed because I would have made some paper on that vid smh it's still doing numbers after months, but I can't see the revenue from it cause of that yellow dollar sign

The email response literally said “After a manual review, we have confirmed this video may contain content not suitable for most advertisers.” There was a link to the advertiser friendly guidelines as well but no specific section was pointed out. I think it was intentionally vague and nonspecific 🤖
Not just videos, I have had a community post taken down by RU-vid for unclear reasons that left me puzzled. And of course, I have also had "limited monetization" slapped on a few of our videos that has truly puzzled us. So I hope this new feature will help clear the air somewhat.

RU-vid doesn't even follow it's own policies. They age-restricted one of my videos although it falls way short in terms of potential inappropriateness compared to dozens and dozens and dozens of other videos which are not restricted. It's almost as if they have no clear standards which they follow.
Now we need to fix videos being automatically set to "made for kids" I've seen several videos from one of my favorite creators that have been set to "made for kids" when he purposely put swears in the video to stop that from happening!
I don't see the point of RU-vid having a "is it for kids or not" option then when you select not for kids and upload a video with topics directed to adults, you get age-restricted. Like make it make sense. So what was the purpose of the option "not for kids" there for smh
Doubt it, I got a strike for minor endangerment in a youtube short, problem is there was only 3 adults in the clip, the youtube team admitted that they where wrong and there was no minors, but said I had to keep the strike and the 3 month ban on applying for monetization, they're a disgrace

I keep telling you, their whole system is extremely corrupt. They only expose things when they're forced to by a court. After 10 years you shall still be same position and asking same questions. And so much to transparency, they took down my comments at noon because they hate constructive criticism.
Is it a minority of people that are like me where I've been monetised for years and yet never once gotten demonetised on a single video? I remember years ago watching RU-vidrs go on about this as if it's a massive problem, yet I've never experienced it (thankfully). Am I just lucky or what? Because I see some people complaining about it and then I check out their content and it's just them using footage of films or TV shows and I think 'well obviously that's going to get demonetised.'
It depends on your content. Imagine channels about guns, murder, etc. Some advertisers don’t want their brands associated with certain content. Obviously, if you don’t make such controversial content, you wouldn’t encounter that. It would be interesting to see a breakdown from YT on the percentages of channels/videos that are demonetized and for what reasons.
To late. YT literally destroyed my Yt account by suppressing me. I was getting 4-5 digits on all my videos and then when this happened I rarely broke past 3 digits.
I'd love to see three digits on my videos. That's how hard they're suppressing me. Then I look at channels in the same niche and see how they're growing or sustaining themselves. It's disheartening.
@@winstology101 Those are definitely two areas I can improve. A huge problem I have is the provable throttling. When performance is soft-capped, it is hard to determine what works and what does not. The Choo Choo Charles video blew up when Choo Choo Charles was new and trending. Arguably a great thumbnail. The success though is more attributable to timing. The shorts algorism is fairer than the other algorisms. I need to invest in making more shorts. Names and descriptions are where I struggle a bit. Any advice?
@@Gamers-Haunt Personally I'm still figuring it out but VidIQ have made quite a few vids on thumbnails if you need a starting point. Nowadays if you don't force the user to click your video YT will give the impressions to someone who does.
Speaking of updates. The new format with the comments on the side and the videos below is extremely ugly and feels terrible. I truly hope they go back on this.
I LITERALLY HIT OVER 1000 in a day! I was at 700 and this morning, I am pushing over 1000! I am just shocked. But I do now have to sit and think out strategy to keep this going. What I DO believe has helped: Responding to comments!❤❤❤
I hope youtube gives us a feature that would allow to replace music or background sounds outside of youtube library so that it wouldn't require one deleting and posting it again could be very helpful for content creators especially ones related to sports and stuff
It would be even better if the automatic detection system added a timestamp rather than having to "request a review" to get the timestamp. I'm very thankful for this change regardless.
The only problem is with reused content policy, even with a video thats been made originally by the creator itself, still being considered reused just because they looks so similar.
They even tell you that they _know your content is originally yours_ , but they still tell you they refuse monetisation because they accuse you of _reusing content._
this is happen to me i show them my documents of compiles video that i edit or create but RU-vid said my appeal not enough visuals now my channel not gonna monetize and i delete all my videos
@@doffymingo3687 just today my appeal worked. I showed them my script, BTS of editing, tts voice website etc. They probably suspected that i use AI, which i proved them wrong.
Ik might never happen but the best monetization update would be to cut down the shorts videos views from million to the thousands or combine shorts views as watch time hours as one
I was getting millions of views then all of the sudden two days ago all my videos stopped dead in their tracks at the same time. I hope I didn’t do anything wrong

This makes me hopeful. I have struggled with this more on my balloon ASMR channel than anything else and a lot of times it'll be months down the line when RU-vid decides to "demonetize" my video (I'm not even monetized yet and I'm told this!). It makes me wonder what sets it off. Is it someone reporting it to RU-vid? Or does the RU-vid system just work at snail speed?
I have one viral shorts video, I used to get an avarage of 1 to 10k views. But since my viral video my avarage daily views are only 100. Does anyone know how this happened and what is can do to fix it?

I submitted a review thinking it was gonna take me to a reason as to why one of my vids got ad limited, and now I fear I put my channel in jeopardy, so I'm trying to call them to tell them I was seeing if I could see what was wrong with my video.
Some transparency is really a good thing here! Unfortunately not for me as I'm not monetised yet and honestly don't expect to ever get monetised because something that isn't transparent at all is how the algorithm works (or in fact: does not work).
I was trying to verify my RU-vid channel, whatever I do I get an error saying " there was a problem sending a verification code" why’s that? I’m trying for months now!!!!
RU-vid has to stop taken away views every day!!! It's been two weeks and it's still going... They are taking 3-7 views overall. Every day. 1 views from ''that'' video, 2 views from ''this'' video... randomly I have like 7 subs and very-very low views, why do they do this?
Ive learned that after a while, after getting monetized, thats its not necessarily the subscriber amount, but the views that are more important as far as what you are paid.
Version Videos needs to be a Feature. Uploading the new version to the same url. There would be a small drop down tab to see the version 1 or 2 or N. This would help refine the main idea of one video.
This feature is a few month old already. I used it (editing and reuploading), but often I've got new time stamps on the edited video... that was becoming shorter and shorter.
your videos i always found very informative. The growing phase in RU-vid is quite hard it brings so much disappointment but giving up is never a solution as we do not know that when the turning point is. we must appreciate one another work and struggle. we are near the change.

RU-vid ecosystem is heavily loaded against small RU-vidrs, especially political analysts. RU-vid needs to be liberal vis-a-vis political content and not disallow its promotion just because it mentions certain politicians or political events.
ReReview is a must in that case. And yeah we can just re-upload it after cutting off the bad part. But having the the revenue in escrow while it’s being approved is also an option.
RU-vid has NEVER been good at explaining new or old guidelines nor does it contact its monetized creators. Thanks man for all youre info all the time! However I was demonetized for non activity in 6 months which I never knew nor did RU-vid let me know. They changed guidelines which is fine but I learned the hard way
It doesn't help in my situation. My manual reviews will be "oh its this 4 second section" The next manual review on a 2nd upload of the same video " oh its from the start to 6 minutes in that violates policies" 3rd upload, "oh were green lit", except I uploaded the same video with no edits each time. RU-vid has no idea how to enforce their own policies. This is all at the behest of the reviewer. Unless you get the same person reviewing it every time, you're probably going to get a million different timestamps, especially if it involves things that go pew

The monetization policies are so silly. If I can watch shows like Criminal Minds and horror movies on TV and RU-vid where they are fully monetized, then RU-vid's creators, who are their customers, should be able to be monetized just like those shows. With that said, it must not have rolled out to me yet as 2 of mine were approved and are now green but the two that remain yellow still have the generic response and I cannot resubmit nor see what the problem is. Oh well.
It is difficult when I listen to your advice and my experience with RU-vid gets worse! It is definitely a tough outfit to do business with! Action without explanation is no help to partners.
