Shorts helped me get monetized my main channel. I mean, I am just small content creator and I work really hard (I also use a little bit of fame- ster, but that's a necessity nowadays). I just give all my videos small initial boost, and that caused them to spread literally everywhere, bringing more and more organic views day after day.

I became a partner way back in the 'Wild West' days of RU-vid. I'd say try to find something different that will generate interest with a significant percentage of viewers. I do lessons on styles not commonly covered. Been going since 2007 and very stable.

RU-vid only monetized after they approved everything, so views between when I qualified and when they approved were not paid, which was about 100,000 views. My circumstance was an unusual one I realize. Anyway, again, I thank you for all you do!

Hello do you need to be already part of the partner program i.e. have the 1000 subscribers and 4000 hour view time, before you can create and make money from shorts or can you start from scratch with the shorts and make money from the fund if the views are high enough ? 100% Ill never go back to ad version of RU-vid lol premium all the way. I do think though that regardless of your channel status premium views should be paid regardless and then ads turn on when you hit the 1/4 mark. Do you have to have both criteria within a year ? my sub count vs view time is extremely skewed I can probably hit the view time in a couple more months but my sub count is extremely lagging even with call to actions in there

@@Ink30 Have you used the premium version of RU-vid ? Once you do you won't want to go back lol being able to close your phone and still let the video play is fantastic. There used to be work arounds but they're fixed now lol

I can't get verified because it says I have to have a business and an IRS number for the business, etc. How do individuals get monetized without starting an official licensed business? They are requiring an SEC filing, or employer identification number, or a business credit report, etc etc. How do you get past that?

Here is a critical question, that nobody has answered so far: If I turn off monetization on one of my videos, will RU-vid play ads on that video (in which I don't earn), OR will there be no ads at all for every viewer?? Why I ask: I want on some videos, my viewers not to be bothered by ads. So I want to turn them off. But this is useless if RU-vid puts ads anyway. Thank you!

No it doesn’t count but you can get a shorts bonus every month depending on what your views are like per month. You only get watch time from PUBLIC VODs (live streams included), also it has to be 4000 hours WITHIN THE LAST YEAR

No one has made a video of HOW you monetise OTHER's videos if you own the content, say you are the composer of the music. HOW do you monetise those videos.

Since RU-vid already deducts 45% by taking their cut does that mean you don't have to pay tax on what they pay you? If that's not true then you really only make like 40% instead of the 55% of the money brought in from ads on your channel

Whatever you actually receive in your bank account from them is classed as income (money earned) in most places, which you will need to pay tax on

@@mr.roberts41 when you hit 1000 subs, and 4000 hours watched you have to apply to be apart of the RU-vid partner program. If you don’t meet their guidelines you don’t get monetized. You have to wait 30 days to reapply. They also don’t tell you what they don’t like on your channel, they give a generic explanation.
