So glad your honest about your time spent making one video. I remember clocking myself for one 20 second video and it literally took 4 hours! Working on different styles to like just filming one take and not editing out the human experience. You seem like you would be well spoken for a one take edit! Just subscribed. I also use Canva for all of my businesses. From making RU-vid videos, to making t-shirts. It's kind of intimidating at the beginning but trust me. Get your hands dirty and you'll be amazed of what you could accomplish. Plus their pre made templates really help ease the whole design operation. Good luck to everyone out there. Good info and congrats on your growth. Better video quality does help overall but I've also had success with videos that were random junk. Any time a video is about money though it seems to get more attention. My real life firework videos costed way more to make than my Rust skin videos yet the Rust ones easily get more attention.

You should do a video breaking down the analytics of your overall channel and also your best & worst performing videos. Those vids tend to do well for most youtubers overall. I'm personally interested too because I bet your stats are completelyyy different than mine are and I would love to see the contrast (i.e. CPM, Average view duration, traffic sources, etc.) Cheers to 100k!

Just the achievement... 😂 Social blade estimate earnings are always way off. I can confirm that. But the prediction on growth is close. As in 95%. You can cause rise in the counts if you post more interesting contents. Hopefully it go viral too. Gonna mirror other comments here, great video! The pacing is spot on for me and your intonation is in the sweet spot between dead and hyperactive. Although that may be irrelevant because I'm interested in the topic, but I can't exactly measure that. Just wanted to say I had 35,000 hours watched before I hit 1000 subs! My "viewers not subscribed" was sitting at 99.7%+ for such a long time.

I dunno how I found your videos because I'm not at all interested in investing, business, etc. (not to mention I'm from the U.S.), but I quite enjoyed this video in particular. I feel like it's a lot harder to "make it" on RU-vid than a lot of people think; I found the breakdown of "investment" cost toward the channel vs income from a month very interesting. It really sheds some light on how difficult it is to be a content creator. EDIT: I mention I'm from the U.S. because I feel like RU-vid, to some extent, doesn't really show promote smaller channels to those outside the country of origin (if that makes sense). Like, I see small channels all the time, but they're almost always by people from the U.S. and they're ALWAYS about topics I'm interested in. That's the purpose of an algorithm after all. So It's particularly interesting that I'm even here at all. Well, to me anyway lol

I use only a battered old iPhone which I already had and the same rode mic you have which plugs into the charging port so total expenditure so far is about £60 on the tiny mic. Reached monetisation eligibility in 6 months and 30 videos. The time taken however doing the videos was immense if I were to add it up. Sometimes recording a 5 minute video takes 14 hours with all the B-roll etc and voice over / music / sound effects. Great video and so helpful to me. Thank you.

It is not high compared to most channels here. I have had a $10.00 plus Rpm since 2020. Right now I am making 12.00 per 1000 views. The only people here making less than $5.00 per 1000 views are buying views or over promoting with google ads

Hello Jon, are you going to put up the links for the equipment and subscriptions that you describe in this video?

We have 4600 subscribers and only make $40 a month in our best month so far. Our CPM is lower, since our audience is from Hispanic countries and our content is about faith. We have had this channel for 7 months now and we monetized it 4 months ago. Getting to the 1k subscribers was easy thanks to shorts. The key is, having the algorithm recommend your videos and that is our problem right now. Even though most of our videos have an Impression click through rate higher than 8% and an audience retention around 60% we are not being suggested by the algorithm 🤷‍♀️ There are so many variables about the success of a channel and the amount you will get paid, that's why is so important to do what you really love, other wise, you can get very discouraged and frustrated.

Just found your channel and watched a bunch of your videos. Loved it and just subscribed!

It takes me about 2 hours to plan and record the next video. The editing can be quick as 30 mins or 5 hours depending on the content. After I get enough sfx, music and stock photos, editing becomes faster.

Im 13 month in.. 400 subs.. grinding hard.. invested about $2000 in equipment, $1400 in subs misc.. time is my big investment.. 8 hours filming and editing x 181 videos and im still 600 subs away from monetizing! Lol but its not all about the $!

I've been thinking about making videos as a hobby. Not necessarily to the point I could quit my job. Just something as a hobby and most likely revolving around one or all of my hobbies. But I got a broad spectrum of hobbies lol. I'd have to make seperate channel's for most of them. I don't think anyone would want to watch a gaming/electronics technician tutorials, history and philosophy of music throughout all time with reptiles and knowing me probably looking at the true fairness of living in this crazy ass world we inherit at birth lol.
