The vast majority of authorities, the courts, and lawyers really dislike cases when the chain of custody of evidence is unverifiable, unreliable, or not properly gathered by proper authorities as such evidence can easily ruin cases. Likely what happened to EDP was that the original video ousting his activities was filled with inappropriate jokes, clout chasing, money-making at the forefront of the original ousters, etc such that a jury might not convict, furthermore I think it was revealed that the original victim is unwilling to testify so yeah. To put into perspective Chris Hansan said that less than half of the cases he had on his show were not charged or had their cases dismissed because of various legal reasons and that is with him working with lawyers, the FBI, local authorities, and prosecutors. I heard that EDP445 recently tried again, but because amateurs who have no understanding of the law recorded him and tainted the evidence, no charges have been pressed or accepted as of now. Usually if one is doing a "pedo hunt" you have to notify the authorities and have evidence that the potential perpetrator has taken significant steps in committing said crime. The problem with the recent incident a few months ago was that Jideon caught EDP right outside a dialysis center and there wasn't sufficient evidence that EDP445 was on the way to solicit a minor to commit sexual acts only that he was going to meet up with someone who is a minor.

As a former Colleen Stan, yes...they were boring before but especially during covid it was like a weird parasocial relationship. She would go through all the things we were going through (making weird recipes and showing her kids growing and evolving). And after looking back on it, there are just so many nuances with kid content that it is a gray area. Anytime I see a kid on the Internet I always get the ick because I'm embarrassed that I even cared that much about her or her kids' lives having no real relationship with her. At the time, we thought she wasn't boring because she talked about the BLM movement, progressive ideals and living in a southern state you don't hear a lot about that. I never knew about the older videos. So I looked up to her and how she was raising her kids. She was using Gentle parenting and I wanted to be a mom like her. I actually felt so betrayed after the apology video. Because I was manipulated to believe that none of it was real and I couldn't excuse her actions. Okay, so this is my personal take. If youtube is a job, then we need to treat her like an "employee" (stick with me here). If an employee of a company groomed and exploited children, do you think they would keep their job? No! Or at least I would hope not. I don't think she should be on youtube and on the internet. Period. And at some point, we do have to look to head of the company (RU-vid HQ) to ask "what are you going to do about your employee? They have so many complaints and proof of misconduct AT BEST."
