I was a friend of Mecha's. He begged me for NSFW, as a friend of Darty who initially helped expose him along with Eva, one of the victims - it devastated us. I donated to him. He was the leader of a COMPETETIVE GROUP. Dude had everything. Friends, fans, a group. And he let us down.

I was a close friend to him when this happened. Like we regularly played games together and I was even on his Ready Steady Pan team for a season (even though I have no idea why since I was the worst on the team but he really needed a scout main and I was there). It genuinely horrified me when he was outed, because he acted completely normal when he was with me; I never would of guessed in a million years he was THIS deplorable of a person.

Hey, just saw this video pop up again and was met with the absolute shock of it. I used to be insanely close to Mechawreck, and pretty active in the TF2 community at the time. Just seeing the title and thumbnail made my heart drop. I have drawings of me and him, and used to do pretty amateur GMod posters, my father knew about him and me being friends along with someone else. It's honestly what made me start to spiral more into depression once all of this came out, and made me distrust a lot of people in my life. On and off again I've been active in the TF2 community, as I've been playing it since I was very young, but each time I log in, there's always that bit of me knowing how much pain it brings to me that I can never play the game the same way again. At the time, I thought that all of this was some spite prank by his brother, but.. again. I didn't know at the time how bad it was, I just didn't want to believe someone who was practically family could do this. I'm glad people are making videos on him, and when the news broke, I was in such a bad state of shock that I still have nightmares about. My heart goes out to the victims they affected.

I remember in 2017 or 2018 I was in a discord server and I unfortunately was preyed on and i didnt know how to tell anyone to stop. I remember crying myself to sleep because I was scared of the man who told me awful things. I reported him eventually a year later after being manipulated and harmed and i dont think i recovered from that until years past that. It saddens me to remember that other people have dealt with this, and i hope the victims of Mechawreck are okay.

i feel like this is gonna get buried, and that's fine, but seeing this i want to tell a story of the exactly one time i talked to mecha, as well as the only couple times i talked to the last victim mentioned in this video, now that some time has passed. Apologies for the inaccurate recollection here. I met the victim on firepowered, and they were talking a lot about this new unusual effect they made. after some discussion, they asked if anyone on the server wanted to jump into a discord call for them to show the effect. i was interested, so i jumped in a call (i believe it was the fp discord? though it could of been a pm, it was 5 years ago now) for them to show me and i believe one other person. the effect was nice, though i don't remember the specifics other than i think it was winter themed? afterwards though, they offered me and the other guy who was there to go into a pm with mecha and another person i wont name drop (or again it could be that they asked if they could add them to the pm). I was a slight fan of him at the time, so I said sure (though i don't remember if the other guy in the call agreed, i don't think they did). In the call with mecha, the victim, and the other guy now. Everything seemed normal for the most part for a majority of the time in call. Everyone was pretty talkative, but nothing really interesting enough to remember was talked about (or maybe i just don't remember honestly). That was until mecha asked the victim to moan. Now I want to preface what I'm about to say with saying I have a friend who (used to, not anymore thankfully) thought moaning on mic was the funniest thing in the world. He would do it all the time, and I never liked it, but i would always hit him with a sort of "canned laugh". So I hit the call with the laugh (which now with context makes me feel like a dipshit when i think about it, since it was a distinctly dipshit move). The rest of the call went dead silent. I tried to laugh it off, but i just gave up and stopped talking. I'm pretty sure I left the call very soon after that, as well as left that pm group chat. Some months pass, and I haven't thought much about the call. I don't go on the unusual trade servers often, but i never ran into the victim after the fact the few times i frequented them. Then someone from a trade server i used to moderate (Rest in Peace Mass Crabbing Co.) pmed me with the mecha exposed video. I watched it, and I knew who the last victim was right away, so I went to pm them. I asked them something along the lines of "I haven't seen you on vatican or fp the few times i've been on, are you ok". They told me they were "getting there, though they were extremely depressed". I said "I'm really sorry.", they said "it's ok..." "I'll be fine". I said "That's good. Hope you feel better soon.", and they said "...thank you". I never talked to them since. I've had time to think about the situation, and in retrospect I really just feel like a fly on the wall that day. At the time it all came to light, I was blaming myself, thinking "oh could I have done more? why the hell did i laugh?". That was more about my mental state at the time though, not particularly the matter at hand. I've made a lot of strides towards self improvement since then, as well as trying to learn to forgive myself. In reality, I was just a dipshit in senior year of high school trying to deal with my own problems, unaware of what something like that may indicate. Maybe if I knew any better I could of done something, or maybe I could of not of, but I simply did not know any better. Now it feels as if I blindly walked into another person's trauma, only for a moment and hopefully never again. If that person somehow finds this comment, or someone shows it to them, I hope you are doing well. Also a side note, while writing this comment I went to fact check when I went to text the person involved about mecha after the exposure, as well as what I said. It seems while I was in the call I at some point asked them if I was muted. Through that, it seems that the call in question happened on November 18th 2018, funny enough 2 days off 5 years to the date. Also, I reached out to them after the exposure, as well as pmed the video from the server member of MassCC, on May 15th 2019, the day after darty's video was posted. I'm going to go lie down now. Writing this comment took a lot out of me. Whoever reads this, have a good one.
