When you see the value in these sets you wonder why anyone still plays Warhammer their pricing is bonkers 😜 £40 for a 12 man kill team or £40 for a full SPQR starter. I’ve played GW games for 15 years I’m done know the take the pxxx lol 😂

I wholeheartedly agree. Warlord provides infinitely more value. But, in the end, it comes down to whether or not one wants to play historic over scifi/fantasy. For us historical gamers, we end up being the lucky ones when it comes to pricing. Thanks for watching!

whats weird is.....i got this boxed set,and it doesnt have a scorpion in it....tried sending mails to warlord games about that but havent had a reaction....bit dissapointed,but besides that i love it!

So there were two distinct two player starter releases: Conquest of Gaul (which didn't have the Scorpion) and then Invasion of Britain which did. They were both very similar released a few years apart. Sorry to hear you didn't get the scorpion. The standard Imperial Roman Legionary Box has one in each kit, so not hard to get. Also, surprised that Warlord hasn't gotten back to you. They're usually very good about that. I'd ping them again.

I think you'll find that Hail Caesar (and Black Powder) will be a good alternative to 40K. more akin to old Warhammer Fantasy if you like rank and flank type games. Rules are simple enough that you'll pick it up fast.
