✔RU-vid is a search based algorithm, so the title right? Or is the title just something to back up the thumbnail?

"For a YT viewer looking through the Home page, he is looking at the thumbnail and not the title it is when the thumbnail catches the eye, he/she decides to look at the title.
But for returning viewers or someone watching from the subscriptions tab, the title is more important because they would want to know if the topic you have that day is something they should watch atm or postpone or not even watch at all. So an already subscribed always checks the title first.
So, it all depends on who you are targeting. Note that a title also is searched on youtube. It is the thumbnail that gets the attention, title at times was hand in hand for someone finding you through search.
So, it depends on what you want, more views from your current subscribers or from new subs/potential subs. If you want new subs, then work on improving the thumbnail, if you want more views, then thumbnail.
