When picking the category, you say 'Ill take (category) for (money amount)' In this case, I think Thomas and whoever he was playing with (I forgot I haven't watched it recently) said 'igloo' and 'air conditioning' you don't need A.C in an igloo, therefore Joan made that hilarious statement of "I'll take 'Things you don't need' for $400"
