I came across an article from Vice which exposed the shocking truth about AI-generated books on Amazon's Kindle. But how come the idea of making money by AI is everywhere? Every AI RU-vidr seems to be pushing the concept of making thousands of dollars through AI with minimal effort. I also speak about the rise of faceless channels made with AI and whether this is a good or bad thing on RU-vid. U

What's funny is that likely, AI bots have seen this video of yours and have spammed it with 0 to 1 second watch time to buuuuury the video down on recommendations. Most of my videos and shorts barely even get recommended. After 1 hour they immediatly flatline, something which has never happened in the past 12 years. I will sometimes have a Short release and in one hour it gets over 1k views and then INSTANTLY it flatlines almost to 0 views per hour. These are AI bots attacking channel in such a way that it burries the videos around them that have a chance to go viral. We are going in a weird direction, and unless RU-vid specifically deletes channels that produce AI content (or at least the ones that are entirely automated that go nowhere), there won't be a stop to it. They should ban AI channels in their ToS.

This has happened for years on the Steam marketplace as well (and community hub on CS:GO, for instance). Bots look at new entries and then spam-attack the submissions with downvotes so your brand new submission (on which some people work years on at times) gets insta-burried so it doesn't even show up on the featured front page. The same is happening on RU-vid.

I'm not sure why your channel popped up on my home page, but I'm glad it did. Very interesting video. I've noticed a lot of these science-based AI channels as well, and it was neat to hear your thoughts on them. Looking forward to future content from ya.

Glad it popped up on your feed. Yeah, the science based Ai channels weren’t even supposed to be in the original video but I just came across it and it was too weird to not talk about

Lets not forget that the vast pools of data for pre-training were built off of peoples hard work without the consent credit or compensation. If these people had to pay for the data the spam would not be happening.

Personally, buying AI art feels dissengenous in a sense. When I'm buying a product, I'd rather talk to another human being, same with the media I consume. I understand that it is a personal bias of mine, but the thing about taking a product to market is that you donhave to take almost everyone's personal bias in the target demographic you are trying to sell to

So I edited a part of my video out where I actually felt bad creating an Ai store because I don’t want someone wasting their money on garbage I created in a few seconds. That point is often over looked in the “make a thousand dollar using Ai in minutes”…. Like there is another human on the other end buying your product, is that completely fair? No! Thanks for watching!

Ngl kinda sad that they get so popular by just auto generating this crap with AI. Kudos to you voicing over, editing adding captions, not wavering your voice during recording, scripting, researching and everything unlike those people behind those AI channels.

Thanks for watching! And yeah definitely sad! also I guess people will find a way to trick the system… so why doesn’t RU-vid step up?

I came accross your article after repeatedly hitting AI YT videos on the 5 best, or 7 best Remote Desktop software. I wanted to look at multiple videos for a range of opinions, just to realise the 1st and 2nd video in the RU-vid search results were produced by the same channel, same stock footage, different AI voice and different order of top picks. This triggered me because I needed some suggestions before pulling the trigger on which one to use, but these AI videos feel so disingenuous. We are not in a good place in the current internet era people... I'm scared.

I have a few of my friends doing the editing for these science cash cow channels and most of time everything is done by a human, albeit very poorly done. I've commented on Kyle's video about this as Future Unity is one of those channels that my friends do videos for. Basically the system is quick and fast content with very clickbait-y thumbnails that is either fake, generated, or manipulated to look enticing. Heck, they even make thumbnails out of porn stars or borderline naked women for more clicks. One person or group basically has a huge capital to outsource everything from the script, voicing and editing to freelancers that are really cheap in huge amounts. A good example of these are editors that are in a third-world country that would have dirt cheap rates. The thing they won't cheap on are voice actors. If you ever heard any of this cash cow channel vidoes it's always some person that has either as American or British accent to make the video seem really legit as huge amount of people associate western voices to be more "professional" or truthful in a sense. You can see they post like every few hours or so because of this sweatshop like structure to built to pump crap content on this platform that favors quantity over quality.
@codingwithdee
@codingwithdee Год назад
That makes a lot of sense, seems like it may be a company controlling this. I guess the main issue is, like you said, they just spit out any content for the clicks regardless of whether it’s accurate or not.

@@codingwithdee as an editor myself truthfulness is one of my main gripes about channels like this and how they're haphazardly made but get more videos than those who have made an effort into making a proper and factual video

I think people don't want to watch that stuff or read those articles that really don't contain anything of substance. The main problem is that they flood an area and, for a while, can drown out the good-quality stuff-like your channel.

You spent the second half of the video undermining your message. AI will not make you $300 a day from ART sales, but if I have 8-9 channels with 200k+ subs that are pumping garbage into RU-vid's ecosystem...there's a real chance I'm making bank in that scenario. I agree that it's garbage and shouldn't happen. And I think the platform needs some form of detection to start countering them. But if the question is not "is it ethical" but "can you make money this way," it looks like you can.
@codingwithdee
@codingwithdee Год назад
Haha weirdly, the second part wasn’t supposed to be part of the video I just came across it. I agree, you can make money with Ai if you pump money into it and buy all these tools. But RU-vidrs don’t seem to mention that fact, all the videos that I’ve seen, make it seem like it’s cheap and easy to make money with AI. Thanks for watching

I thought I was the only one thinking you cant make any money with AI. I have tried to get result with AI but never managed to get any result better or faster. I use it is a search engine now, for which it works reasonably well but to me it is not more than that. I also don't see any big progress from here anytime soon.
