The pug saga of Count Dankula was so bizarre. The legal system knew it was bs, most people knew it was bs, and Jewish people who were fans or had heard about it on local news showed up to his trial in show of support because they thought it was funny. Dankula still makes light and makes reference to the video and jokes about the whole thing and how much of a pain in the ass it was. He really didn’t let any of that stop him creatively or in his beliefs toward freedom of speech.

Japan in and of itself is extremely conservative still, so it's hard to name which factors influence their negative view of streamers, or foreign youtubers etc, but it definitely couldn't have helped, but I doubt many old school people ran across the video, unless they saw it on main stream local media.

I genuinely don't understand the ways people get into controversy. In my opinion it's so easy to avoid any kind of controversy, that it's literally boggles my mind that it ever happens. Don't abuse animals, don't make fake pranks that could give people ptsd, don't cheat on people, don't fake being disabled. Don't FUCKING groom minors. I remember one huge one was DrDisrespect filming his trips to the bathroom at E3, which is illegal in California, plus other people were in there so it also violated Twitch's rules against streaming people without their permission. He was initially just suspended for a month, but then was permanently banned a year later for reasons that have never been made clear. There's also ZillianOP, who was revealed to have been faking being paraplegic when he left the camera on while standing up out of his wheelchair, followed by a pathetic attempt to pretend he fell out of it when he realized the stream was still going.

The hate with PewDiePie is so overblown, his content is completely different from how it was in 2017, and every time a controversy comes up it's either a hit piece, and completely devoid of context, or he apologized for it years ago, and has never repeated the same mistake twice. Most of his content is looking at his sub reddit, vlogging, and the occasional reaction, or let's play. That's right, his content evolved, and he never made any lame excuses for his actions like almost every other youtuber with many controversies does in those "apology" videos. There's a reason he still has over 100 million subs. People still try to make poor attempts to cancel him, over things that have happened 5 0r 6 years ago, things that no on cares about anymore, and that he's already apologized, or by completely taking him out of context, or literally making up shit. There are literally hundreds of RU-vidrs who have done far worse things than him, or made lame excuses for their actions, and some people still act like he's the devil of RU-vid, when dozens, and dozens of youtubers have been proven to groomers. Like, what's worse, having a lapse in judgement, or saying a controversial word, or being a 30 year old RU-vidr trying to sleep with a 15 year old fan?

Honestly, the count dankula controversy is just stupid to me. It's in poor taste, but that was the point. Nobody was hurt, the dog wasn't being mistreated, and the video seems really cute regardless of the origin of the salute. Hate speech is a made up crime for people who can't handle their feelings being hurt. Calling for violence and crime isn't hate speech. It's incitement. "Hate crimes" in general are a stupid classification, as if the motivation of a killing makes it somehow worse than a different motive.

Ryan Haywood did nothing wrong a vast majority of shit like some u guys said were blatantly false, like calling him "wholesome" dude was known for his dark personality, saying fucked up shit before everyone started getting all so upset over every minor thing and cancelling ppl over it which sadly started during his final months over at RT. He said like "you always kill the kids first", "EDGAR IS THE ONE IN THE HOLE" or threatening to wear gavin like a finger puppet and that shit is still funny both in and out of context to fans and its what kept ppl around watching AH lets plays. There was a good reason Ryan moments were among the most clipped in their lets plays. The only thing he actually did was cheat on his wife but no all the BS and made up crap that ppl spread basically cancelled him off the face of the internet and ruined his life and roosterteeth showed how full of shit they were when they just threw him to the wolves. The collapse of RT and especially AH and their lets play directly goes back to where Ryan was cancelled cuz he hard carried it with his personality and when they started playing around with garbage wokeness almost as to try and wipe ryan from their history with those idiots they and that BLM chick they put into their lets plays to desperate try to pander to SJWs.
