This has got to be the most powerful delivery of a request for forgiveness I have ever seen, made me cry even as an African.

I'm a Jamaican living in Nigeria. I felt a strong calling from the age of 18 to be in Africa. I cldnt put my finger on why whilst all my friends were having fun clubbing in the UK, but still i wanted to be in Africa. Now in my 40s im glad i made that choice. Seeing my children grow up on African soil makes me happy😊

As a descendant of an African slave thank you for your acknowledgement and sincere apology which is graciously accepted in all humility. It is a strange thing, but even after all of this time, all of the generations past, all of the indoctrination and ongoing suffering experienced in western societies, Africa has always remained in the heart. They abused and ridiculed many of us in the diaspora during the time of South Africa apartheid, laughing at how just a few thousand of them could dominate and control over 30 million Africans. You could not go to a pub, a club or a venue, where this was not the case, but we remained rebellious and proud. In western schools we were not taught anything about African achievement or culture, even though the museums were full of these artefacts. We felt oppressed by movies such as Tarzan which they promoted along with the image of the "great white hunter" always being carried by the lesser, native. It was like a slap in the face. They taught us that they were supreme and knew more about the lands of Africa than the Africans themselves. They taught us that we were essentially born of savages and it was only through their benevolence, for which we should be eternally grateful, that we would amount to anything. One teacher showed me a film of an African tribe with bones through their noses and told me, these were my people. But through it all somehow, a special love and affinity remained as we sent the little donations that we could to fight apartheid and aid Biafra. Speak not of forgiveness, because it is understood that Africans at home were also being abused, terrorized and traumatized first hand, however, if possible a network of increased pipelines of communication and collaboration from the Mother lands to the diaspora, where ever they are, should be developed and established. This is a two way street. Not just come and invest in Africa, we need investment support too as diasporans. We have been fighting from within for a very long time with no support or acknowledgement. Not all of us will be able to relocate to the Continent, but we will continue the struggle in situ as many of these lands are funded by stolen African resources and we feel we have a stake in them as we have paid much in blood, sweat and tears throughout the years. Imagine if an African bank or financial institution set up a diaspora pension plan where by African diasporans could invest $10, $20, $30 or whatever they could afford on a regular basis, from anywhere in the world and this money was then invested in profitable African projects so that the account holder was able to have a financial stake in Africa and the Continent could develop even more expediently. Not just in the USA, but in the belly of the beast in UK, Europe and Canada. We would like to be able to better contribute to the further advancement of the land of our forefathers and there are many of us that though suffering in these far away places, still have much to offer by way of knowledge, skills and ideas. Our brothers and sisters in Africa may not know the experience of being the "token Black", or the one Black child in a class of 33 yt children, experiencing yt on Black racism day in day out from cradle to grave, but as they say, what does not kill you, only serves to make you stronger. We look forward to the resurgence of Africa and Africans everywhere as they regain their greatness and rightful place in this world. Thank you.

Thank you. Because we did suffer and nobody even looked back to see how we were fairing. Our ancestors somehow made it work and we Black Americans are still suffering. The wealth coming out of Africa Black people are still suffering. So we should have Black owned hospitals, supermarkets, grocery store, credit unions and Banks. Here in America. Business should go on with Blacks in the US and Africa. They just struck down Affirmative action at the highest court, which was led my one Chinese man. It was one white woman that went to court to take prayer out of our schools and now our parental rights. So you punish your child for breaking the law at home and you can go to jail. The police could kill your child for an alleged crime and is justified. I personally on behalf of my ancestors accept the apology but now open the doors of opportunity for Black people abroad and at home to do business. This is what I have been saying. We sold our brothers and sisters to white people. Why was it called slave trade? It was a trade between buyers and sellers. Raw materials. African Heads of states are still raw materials in the hands of white governments. They are still selling their nations. The famous infamous Arochukwu shrine in Eastern Nigeria was one of the centers of slave trade. The juju or voodoo shrine was like an African traditional court. I don't want to call it a native court. During disputes, people were brought there to settle their cases before the shine. Who was guilty was taken away, 'swallowed' by the shrine. In the end, after decades of the unsolved misery of the disappearance of the guilty ones, it was discovered that they were sold into slavery. Business. Good business. Right now, intra-Africa slavery is still going on. As I was still in Nigeria, my then girlfriend told me that I could buy a slave in Cotonou, Republic of Benin and in other areas in Nigeria, if I wanted. She told me that slavery was still going on. We are all guilty for allowing the West to fool us. They are still fooling us with Aids here are there. And, we are happy about our foolishness and greediness.

Even though our ancestors were sold into slavery, their descendants still fought for the continent through literature and music lamenting for the freedom of our ancestors land. Africa is born in us. We are true Africans and are unapologetic about it. We have been forgiven you. It's up to you to accept us back home and not through visa. We are Africans of those that never volunteered to leave and work all their lives fir free and treated less that humans. WE HAVE BEEN THROUGH A LOT!! WE HAVE, AND FOR WHAT? When the freed slaves were given the option to return to Africa from USA in the 1800s , only around 13,000 accepted to return. Those who refused feared dieseases, wars etc. Most said America is their home. Now that Africa has developed, some people want reparations!!
