I used to fly ys .61s on my pattern planes in the late 80s. Extremely powerful engines . Theyre great.

It does run quite well. I have run it 5-6 times today in different configurations. It is a nice engine.

The tacho may need a little more light in front of the propeller. A friend changed the photo-diode in his tacho (not turnigy) to get it working properly. I would like to see the engine running on the pipe. This will show it's real potential.

It has worked in this position before. The Turnigy tachs are just not good enough to be used in the manner I use them. Close proximity to the prop. I am not going to actually 'tune' the tuned pipe on this engine. There is little point in doing that since I have no intention of flying this engine. Besides the review of this engine posted below, does not show this engine being the powerhouse the people initially think it is.

David, I gave my Turnigy tach the flick as it was horribly unreliable. Depending upon how much you are willing to spend, my recommendation is the Hanger 9 tach or go top shelf & buy a Fromeco TNC tach. The latter tach is simply superb & will read the rpm up to a meter away from the propeller. I have the Fromeco TNC tach & highly recommend it.
