I wish these wonderful radio stars were still alive. It would my greatest pleasure to thank them and if possible meet them in person. Such incredible talent.
Johnny Dollar helps me get to sleep every night. The stories are clever, well acted and great variety of stories. They don't make 'em like they used to. Mike D Spokane
For those who enjoy researching the biographies of the supporting cast, mentioned in the closing credits are Lucille Meridith, Betty Lou Gerson, John Stephenson, Bob Bruce, Vic Perrin, Tony Barrett and Herb Ellis.
From my experiences in buying these radio shows, Radio Archives out of Spokane, WA has by far released the clearest and best packaged of just any other competitor out there. This includes their work in researching what shows still exist and in certain cases having been responsible in getting the original discs for cleaning and transferring to CD's and computer downloads. I notice they have 6 or more "Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar" boxed sets for sale now and such has been the case for many years. I don't have their sets but would think if anyone had the missing segment 3 of "The McClain Matter" it would be from Radio Archives. Of course I won't know until I purchase the sets they offer. I have purchased many from them over the years and the quality is excellent, but sadly not this one.
It was not this episode but Johnny paid 14$ for an overnight stay in the hospital. Everything else Dollar bills for make sense. .50 cents or a Buck for a drink. 200$ for airfare. 4$ tank of gas. All reasonable compared to. Today. Except the hospital stay. The increase cost from circa 1955 until now is astounding. What a racket.
There is a missing 15 minute segment (3) on this program. I wonder if the complete series will ever be found as the story makes sense, but the middle (3) section is missing one segment.
No, it will never be found. I note that episode 3 for this story is missing in the comments. Old time radio in general & Johnny Dollar in particular is so popular now that if it was ever found someone would have it on their website. I have about 5 of these Johnny Dollar stories what are missing an episode.
If any commercial group selling radio shows would have the missing segment, it would be Radio Archives (out of Spokane, WA) and I checked their Boxed sets of "Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar" and they do not have it either. As Radio Archives is the most complete of any commercial group selling old time radio shows, I doubt (as they don't have the missing segment) it will ever found.@@michaeldegen3850
There is a missing piece on Riley, when JD met him 1st it jumps to when he gets Into JDS car and circles block, and discussed exhuming body of his girl.
Yes Roy. This episode is missing part 3 of 5 parts, I wrote a little note about this above. But because they always do a recap at the beginning of each episode you do not miss much.
I wonder if this episode will ever found. The series offered by Radio Archives out of Spokane, WA might have this missing episode as the radio shows they offer are exceptional and generally always complete.@@michaeldegen3850
Awesome!! They just do not make them, like this anymore! Suspense! I was sitting on the edge of my sofa, nervously waiting for another crumb of evidence.....to exonerate the sadly "dead" former wife of Dr. McClain. What an asshole!!!!!!!!!! The characters are larger than life.....and we've never seen them! With radio.....the mind must compose and recognize the cast of characters we can hear but not see. My mind loves exercise!!!!! Wow! What a workout!!!!!!💞💖💜
Segment 3 of this episode details Johnny Dollar's meeting with Riley. It is missing but the "gist" of the missing segment is clear from episode 4.@@heyoldman2003
