It is implied that the duels against High Mages, Sebek & Neku and DarkNite & Nitemare are shadow games, therefore if Atem lost, he would die (or worse than that)

This game was made before official yugioh duel monster anime came out. They based this on manga style.. those high mages you've defeated actually died in this game..

In case you lose to Darknite or Nitemare, the game should've shown you scenes of him taking over the Earth before the game over screen.

It is supposed to be so. He is the main reason of the game's plot. There should definitively have been an epilogue of Darknite dooming the world in case you lose to him.

This game was released before Yugioh Duel Monster anime came out, so Konami based this game on Yugioh manga where some dark hardcore stuff happened. Those high mages who were defeated by The Prince actually died for real. also if The Prince lose , he dies, therefore Game Over screen.

@@leonardofowler233 back then Battle City arc had not been finalized yet and they didn't know what kind of character Ishizu would be in canon. Kazuki Takahashi only gave Ishizu's prototype character art design to Konami and Konami made their own interpretation.

I played just once at a cousin's house when he was not at home remember the first character shown in a part of the game telling me "You can't run away" when I tried to escape. It was so unexpcted. It was like a trauma to me.

That creeped me out as kid too. How you have to escape out of the palace, and the main villain corners you with that, “You can’t escape” line. The music also made it eerie too

Thank you buddy, for giving me nightmares by reminding me of the faces that Pegasus and Darknite make when they beat you and, for Jesus holy fucking Christ, I never thought that when you lose against Bakura that he was so fucking scary, lucky me that I always beat him in the game. Joke aside, that was an unexpected video that I felled upon to, nice work.

Well, this game came out before the Battle City arc was even depicted in the manga, so she's completely different. Heck, in the Japanese version, Ishizu is her family name.

i freaking love this game ^^ i loved the way we could combine cards in our hands to form new monsters (and I dont mena poly either), it was a lot of fun ^^ and it had decent animation when you learn to click the square button and see the monsters actually attack animation XP didn't know that for a solid year till i pressed it by accident one time XP lol.......*sigh* i wish they'd do anothre of these X/
